spot on.bugged me for a while his man of the people act.
i like hatton and its not a huge annoyance, but yes,a normal guy wouldnt constantly be telling people how normal he is.very odd.next time you go out with your mates, remind them how normal you are and how you do normal things with your mates.you'll get some strange looks.
he doesnt want to be seen as a changed, spoilt, big time charlie.fine ,but he does lay it on a bit thick.

I have to agree to an extent with those who find Hatton slightly grating.

I remember he was Parkinsons and Parkinson didn't even ask him about his support base or persona and before you could count to two Hatton was going off on one about how down to earth he is etc. He basically says the same thing in every single interview.

I feel like saying to Hatton and his supporters that it is possible to be a good guy and humble and not get plastered every other night in the pub. But that's why Hatton is so popular; he appeals to the yobbo pub culture that abounds in England and the herd mentality that these people tend to exhibit.

I also think he has underestimated Mayweather- calling him a runner(he doesn't actually run that much)-and a little bit of me wouldn't mind Mayweather putting on a boxing clinic and exposing Hatton's "educated pressure". Having said that, I'll listen to Mayweather at some point during the day and want Hatton to twat him.

    pass the sick bucket please:barf

Hes spewing so much claptrap, its getting hard to keep up with his outlandish statements! Someone should give him one of his favourite gutbuster full english breakfast to keep him quiet for 5 minutes. Right enough, all that will happen then is when Ricky shuts his mouth, preacher man opens gis gob & starts insulting our intelligence.

Well for your benefit sunshine I will in fact post my old avatar picture of me and Hatton in a greasy spoon cafe, on Market Street in Hyde. I was popping into the bank across the road when I saw him in there. This was a few weeks after the Mayweather clash was announced and he was with his brother Matthew in there.

There were no cameras about, no tv, no reporters, I felt quite intrusive asking for a picture as they were eating but hey ho!

    http://flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=2092715831&size=o

and the cafe in question is about as working class as you can get.

Yeah it is wearing thin , I mean really what is normal about making a living as a boxer . This is main reason I can not pick Ricky over Floyd , Ricky spend too much time at the pub drinking and getting fat in an attempt at being normal.

When thinking of Hatton's 'I'm normal stuff' and Mayweather's 'me me me' attitude it reminds me of two people at work. One, Ged Gomez, has an irritating penchant for saying "I speak my mind, I do". It annoys the **** out of me sometimes that he constantly has to tell me what I already know. He does speak his mind and he's a straight-talking fella. But 'do you have to keep telling me, Ged?"

On the other hand, his colleague, Dereck Jones is a self-centred, loud mouthed ****, obnoxious, arrogant lying ****er who'll do anything to try and get out of some decent hard work, unless it benefits him somehow. :-(

Which do I prefer? The former of course. Despite this, apparent, self-praise an reassurance that he is a 'nice guy', when it comes down to it Ged's a good ****ing bloke, he's well-liked and he won't let people down. Dereck will always be a ****, whose nan or grandad will die soon (for the 12th time).

ps. I don't dislike Mayweather by the way. Just an example. For people who seemingly 'hate' a man merely for stating the obvious. :good

Yeah, but this isn't Hatton vs Mosely. It's Hatton vs one of the least popular 'great fighters' there's ever been. The lack of popularity due to the fact his fights are dull but mainly that he's an overbearing *****.

Xenophobia is still incurable I see....

Must be a right nuisance to have to cheer a team on that's managed by a Scotsman eh :yep
