    1. The Kostya Tszyu that Hatton beat hadnt fought consistently in over 2 years due to injury. Tszyu was well past it. The hometown Ref allowed Rick to maul and grab at will, he also ruled a body shot knockdown a slip. 2. The moment Hatton stepped it up he was torched by Collazo, out on his feet in the twelth Rd he was lucky to survive. Hatton received a gift from the judges in a fight many had him losing.3. Castillo was shot to pieces and had looked absolutely horrible in a prior bout leading up to Hatton that many thought he lost. The body shot KO however did wonders for the Hatton mystique.4. Lazcano a lightweight had Ricky ready to go when once again a hometown ref stepped in to fix a glove.5. With Huge paydays due to his popularity in England, this Fighter with modest skills at best has frankly been very fortunate to make the amount of money he has.6. There are guys all around his weight class that would also starch him, however they will never make 1/4 of the paydays this guy has.7. He is very fortunate, should understand this and retire before he gets serioulsy hurt.8. He was not stronger and did not look any bigger than Pac on Fightnight that advantage was the one of the biggest myths9. Hatton has gotten maximum return on his investment: a little skill, luck and careful matchmaking have been his in Spades and he should quit while he is ahead.

Not a hater by any chance are you?

What about outpointing Urango, who is a beast for the weight and went on to systematically beat the guy that Castillo looked so bad against?

Dominating Paulie, who was supposed to be too fast?

The first man to destroy Maussa (Cotto had only managed to beat him on cuts)

Tszyu had smashed Mitchell only a few months previous, so wasn't that inactive was he?

You can do this to anyone's record if you're that petty :good

ie Pac lost to Morales and only beat him when Morales had lost to Raheem. Don't agree with that but you see what I mean?

Tszyu had shoulder surgery in between.

He did get robbed of a knockdown and the ref didn't even take a point for a foul so blatant a DQ wasn't outof the question - The fact not a point was taken is ludicrous.

    BUT

KT didn't complain after the fight in a show of class not rivalled before or since in modern boxing - So I won't **** and moan too much.

When you think about it - Each of the three lineal changes of the title this decade have been pretty dramatic. Tszyu makes Judah do the dance of the new born foal, Hatton usurps Tszyu in a brutal mugging, Manny explodes atomic bombs on Hatton and decimates him in 2 rounds.

Not a bad division the ol Jnr Welters.

Now Hatton is gone (probs) and Pac will chase super fights, 140 is still a HOT division.

It is the new 135 IMO

I dont hate on Hatton I like the guy and he was good for boxing. He can win a few if he is carefully matched but if you like the guy is that what you want?

I was just trying to state that he was protected and matched well and it sold like snowflakes....but he never really was a really great fighter and has always been one dimensional.

That in spite of a thin talent he has been compensated very well. Just read Malianaggi comments after their fight. Im just telling it like it is.

consider this:Should hatton eventually make the incredibly difficult decision to hang them up, then he should be remembered not for what happened on Saturday night, but for the way he tried to live up to all our expectations of what a championship boxer should be. No fear. Fight the best. Entertain the fans. Perhaps we should all take a step back from Saturday and consider how many current fighters have this attitude, because when warriors like Hatton and Pacquiao are gone, we might miss them more than we think

p.s by the way tszyu was considered p4p no.2 in the world when hatton beat him up,dont give me that prime **** either he was still a dangerous fighter.

Can't believe you guys call him a hater. Everything he says has some truth to it.

Do I agree with him? Not on everything.

Does he make some good points? Sure does.

There are some very knowledgeable British fans here. A ton of you are as stupid as you are passionate. I assume the stupid ones are blind hatton nut huggers, they probably only follow him.

Guve Hatton a break pal, he beat the p4p no2 to win his title and his only loses come from the p4p no1's at the time that is what should be considered. He came up short when he tried to reach the very top but he tried none the less. Good luck to him whatever he decides to do.

Your obvious hate gets in the way of any informed opinion. You are just another boring, cliched, stereotypical hater.
