I think a lot of people have taken Ricky's comments out of context.

He said that Cortez didn't give him a fair go - exactly right IMO, but DIDN'T say he would have beaten Mayweather without Cortez as referee. Maybe he would, maybe he wouldn't, I guess we will never know!

IMO, a bad loser is one which makes a multitude of lame excuses for losing, such as being ripped off by judges, or whatever.

Hatton, on the other hand ADMITTED that Mayweather was better than him on the night, that he DIDN'T perform at 100%, and that was the reason why he lost.

It is clear to anyone that watched the fight live, that Cortez was getting over involved, and that is the point that is raised. Whether this would make much difference, probably not IMO.

All these Americans saying how brilliant Witter is need to stop watching youtube, and watch his fights against Colin Lynes et al, and gain a balanced opinion.

We could all say how great Hatton was against Freddie Pendleton, Steven Smith, Tony Pep etc, but how bad he was against Vilches, Urango etc - to gain a balanced view!

The **** Hatton is getting on the forums since the Mayweather fight is an absolute disgrace, a bit like glory hunting football fans who drop there team at the 1st sign of trouble. People like that are just wankers!!!!!

At the end of the day he went in against the p4p No1, did well until around the 6th round then got slowly dismantled and there is no shame in that.

He did his fans proud, at the end of the day he was the one taking the punches and punishment from a modern day legend and was graceful in defeat. Sure the ref was crap on the night but he knew that Mayweather was just a step too far for him and nearly every other fighter around the weight.

Whilst i dont agree with Hatton's lifestyle out of the ring, who gives a **** as he generally does the business come fight time and as its him that takes the punches then let him be.

He still owns the 140lb division and would have Witter running for his life within 6 rounds.
