A lot of people on here seem to overrate this guy because of his gung ho explosive style. But this guy from day one - like bute; was provided with a multitude of bums to feast on until there was none left and there was no option but to fight an elite fighter and get their asses owned.

This is the guy that would come at you with a flurry of punches then clinch, smother and choke then rinse and repeat. That's not boxing that's bar fighting.

This is the same guy that shamelessly ruined Floyd mayeather sr's reputation as a trainer, when in his fight with pacman he never bothered listen to one bit of advice provided and continued to bum rush then clinch, and leave himself open to shots.

That's not a world class fighter in any stretch of the imagination. There was a thread on here a while back asking who would win out of hatton and timothy bradley and there were members who had to think about the answer

Fact. Hatton won his title by repeated fouling and wrestling like a mini-John Ruiz, fought a multitude of bums while defending said title, and then got his Glass Jaw Shattered when he came Stateside to find a real challenge.

if by real challenge you mean Pacman and Mayweather, two ATGs, then you need to rewrite your post.

they arent simply real challenges, they are ultimate tests, and pretty much everyone knew he was gonig to lose but him.

This. The chincheckers are ultimate ***gots. No shame in losing to an all-time great.

I love it when guys on her state that the loser of an undeniably close fight was the winner as if it were objective fact.

Everyone knows Hatton was well protected early on in his career and that continued for a long time. Way past what is accpetable. Then he fought Zoo and a well past it Zoo at that and wrestled his way to a victory. Eventually he stepped up and lost. He was a solid B level fighter in the realm of fighting C level guys and below.

Nonetheless he had an exiciting style and brought a lot of attention to boxing and thta is his biggest accomplishment.

    this.

furthermore Hatton had the guts to face both these prime ATGs when other British boxers hide in Wales or whereever for a decade. That speaks volumes, I'd rather see 1 of him than 10 of the other kind of Brit.
