Hatton a fraud in LWW division?

You must be ****ing mad. Hatton only lost once at LWW and that was to a prime Pac. If Hatton is a fraud then so are just about all the great champions of the past and present.

What next? Is Garcia is also a fraud?

How can a fighter make it to fight two P4P#1 fighters as a fraud? :patsch

P4P is mythical for one. Hatton had a lot of hometown fights with hometown British referees and judges. The Tszyu fight was a disgrace and he would have been DQed anywhere but England.

We all saw what happened to him when he came to the States. He got leveled.

Hatton was not that good in my opinion.

The Tsyzu fight was a disgusting foul fest. And semi-retired Tsyzu was actually competitive despite the dirty tactics.

He doesn't have any wins that are above average. Going life and death with Collazo is the level i will remember Hatton to be on. Similar level to Berto.

I do agree that the Tszyu fight was a first class disgrace but still, I don't rate Hatton as a "fraud" and not close. He's a solid fighter with a respectful resume. In the end, he made it far enough to battle top fighters for a reason. Whether you want to approve of Mayweather's P4P#1 status at the time or Pacquiao's is your own business. EVERYONE following the sport at the time had them as #1 when Hatton fought them.

Against Pac I felt Hatton was already shot. Against Floyd the referee made it impossible for him to work inside at all. Disgraceful.

    "wright" :rofl

Anyway, Hatton became shot mostly because of his habit of partying between fights and having to shed so much fat.m It caught up with him.

I was never a fan of Hatton,
He seemed to miss certain fights. He was D Corleys WBO mandatory yet didnt fight him and instead fought alot of lesser fighters at that time. Gave up the British title and not fight Witter. Didnt face Judah or Cotto when they were at his weight and fought so many non descript fights.
I seem recall his promoter writing something along the lines that he didnt make the Clottey fight because Clottey was beaten by Tsyzu, but then after Clottey also lost to Mitchell, the fight could then be made. Could be wrong.
Hatton seemed to pick the right fights. Tsyzu at the end, which was a good win to be fair, then after that it seemed very organised.
I think the fight with Mayweather was only made when Floyd didnt look good against Oscar and the belief was that Manny would be too small, but thats just my opinion and could well be wrong.
In fairness Ricky had a very good career beat several world champs and his win over Malignaggi looks better over time, but I was never sold personally.
    Maybe I am underestimating him?

One of the best in that weight class while never really keeping his body in boxing shape was a tremendous achievement. It finally caught up with him later on.

No professional boxer can binge drink.

We never really saw Hatton at 100% because he let himself go in between fights.
