I give ricky a solid 10% chance of stopping paulie this weekend. I mean c'mon guys, paulie has shown us that he can battle threw adversity (broken jaw & hand) with stronger punchers (ala cotto). and please dont give me that "cotto was drained @ 140 and hatton hits harder b/c he doesnt.

and do you really think paulies gonna stand toe-to-toe and trade with ricky? -NO. we all know paulies gonna stick and move, try and keep the fight at a distance jab jab jab etc. Not only is paulie "hatton style tested" he's hungry, slick & mentally strong/smart enough to stick to his own gameplan.

For those who give ricky a 75% chance and up :nut need to wake the fu*k up, step outta hatton wonderland and face reality. The reality is hatton isnt the same hitman he once was and thats the main reason why he hired mayweather sr. :deal ricky cannot bulldoze though fighters like he used to and is taking too many unnecessary shots.

Will we see a "new and improved" ricky hatton? -probably NOT. We'll see better headmovement and bit of technique but only for the 1st half. once fatigue starts to set in the 2nd half its same old hook & hold hatton which imo can still get the job done.

I doubt Ricky will stop Paulie, if he does it'll be by pounding to the body. < 10% for me

Theres about a 30-40% chance I would say.

Looks like a distance fight; although all I'm really basing this on was Paulie's ability to last the distance against a weight-drained Miguel Cotto.

Paulie gets too much credit for getting beaten up by a skeletally weight drained Cotto in his last fight at 140.

20% chance of Hatton stopping him.

About 40%, like it or not Cotto WAS weight drained when Paulie recorded his best career result and Cottos pressure is more methodical/ intelligent but lacks the tempo of Hattons. "Styles makes" and all that, just because Cotto didn't stop Paulie doesn't mean you are saying Hatton is "better" than or punches harder than Cotto if you think he might get the stoppage on Saturday night.

whats good GazOC ? i know you a big hatton fan (dont be fooled by my newbie title, i was banned)... now weither cotto was unbelievably drained or not he still nailed paulie with many vicious shots that would have folded the average. if we're talking about the hitman ala KT i would definetly say rickys got 40-50% chance at stopping him. but not only is ricky on the decline, he's not coming in with the same gameplan he's had throughout his career.

I think theres a chance that Rickys pressure may take its toll and eventually waer down Paulie and possibly stop him late.

    10%.

I'm thinking about putting down some money on this fight going the distance.

Nah, I remember you, you had the Asian girl in you avatar, right?:good

I think Hatton has a decent chance at a stoppage, like I say even a non-weight drained Cotto never used to like applying high-tempo pressure and, while Hatton is likely on the decline, I think he'll still he'll pose a different type of problem for Paulie with more constant pressure.

I think this "new gameplan" thing is unlikely to happen, both Hatton and Mayweather Snr know what they have to work with, a 30 year old pressure fighter. They may tweak a few things but I very much doubt there'll be any major changes in Hattons style at this point in his career.

This fight will not be competative at all and should have never been made. Paul Malignaggi has nothing. Hatton knocks him out early.
He might not even work up a sweat.

I do think there is a chance Hatton can stop Paulie, but I believe it would by a bodyshot, a liver or kidney punch, not a head blow.

Pretty weak chances Paulie gets stopped. The guy has a chin and is tough but if his hands breaks he will be in a lot of trouble with Ricky.10%
