hamed, he fought with a fan friednly style, always looked for the knockout, and cleaned out his division. yes he lost to mab, but all the best fighters lose fights.
Calzaghe > Nas > Hatton Loved Nas to bits. People talk about him ducking and ****. The guy cleared whatever there was when it was around. He was always a fan friendly fighter and yet he came back to fight once more in Britian on his last fight and got boo'ed horribly.
hattons story of his life was beating Tyszu but any1 with an educated eye knows the fullstory about that
Talent - Hamed, Calzaghe, Hatton Legacy - Calzaghe, Hatton, Hamed Resume - Hatton, Calzaghe, Hamed Hamed - God given talent that should have made him go on to achieve great things. Instead he became complacent, lazy, and lacking that motivation to complement his skills. Left his career and legacy unfinished. Complete waste :verysad Calzaghe - Had great talent, but was too scared to test himself against the best in their primes. For a supposed ATG, his career best win is Kessler Hatton - Had all the heart, motivation and guts you can ask for in a fighter. A pitty he didn't have the skills to match. The two times he was matched against elite fighters, he was brushed aside emphatically. But still, at least he can retire knowing that he did try to mix it in with the best. :thumbsup
in terms of legacy id go calzaghe hatton hamed in terms of excite, ment and stuff its the other way round
Talent is obviously Hamed-Calzaghe-Hatton Gave me the most enjoyment following their careers then its Hamed-Hatton-Calzaghe
In order of greatness 1.Calzaghe 2.Hamed 3.Hatton In terms of my favorite 1.Hamed 2.Calzaghe 3.Hatton
Calzaghe - Was the best at 168lbs and 175lbs. Undisputed 168lbs champion, won all the belts. Undefeated. Faced household names. Hamed - Should have won all the belts, awesome puncher in a weak division at the time. Was exposed against Barrera when he lost his edge. Hatton - Beat KT and was the man at 140lbs. Often beat up on smaller weaker opponents. Was blasted out by ATG Mayweather and MannyP.
lol how can Naseem be more talented than Joe when Joe was never beaten by a slugger? The difference is Naseem had speed - Joe has speed AND technique. A technician can slip punches; naseem relied on speed and got found wanting when presented with adequate pressure.
Dude he never cleaned out the division.....Hello? Barrera! it's easier for a little guy to go up in weight than a bigger guy anyway but Hamed couldn't even clean out one division. Joe cleaned out his division and beat the 175 champ (who beat Tarver). Dawson was the only *maybe* and I think deep down most people know what woulda been a close fight. Im not ragging on Hamed, he was mint but P4P he isn't on Joes level. Man look how fast & technical Joe was @ 168 and how fit!!! If that dude dropped 44 lbs he would have been incredible.
:deal Agree with everything except " ...The two times he was matched against elite fighters, he was brushed aside emphatically." Pac, absolutely. Floyd, not so much. Ricky gets a bad deal on this fight all the time. I think everyone remembers the result, but not how Ricky dictated the pace and applied pressure in the preceding rounds. Sure, ultimately Floyd timed him perfectly and he was KO'ed, but he did a respectable job from 1-9.
For me its Hatton-Hamed-Calzaghe Hatton was a two weight world champion that fought all commers, although he lost his two biggest fights to the worlds P4P best he out of the three can at least say hes been there and had a crack, has alot of quality names on his resume. Hamed was all action entertainment with power to kill, a thrill to watch but again lost his biggest fight, could of showed more heart, re-matched barrera, career ended too soon. Calzaghe, no doubting his record, but for quality prime opposition its very poor, too late to travel to america and take risks
