i guess that instead of saying the truth you would prefer that i say that Hatton is a master boxer with great defense instead of the jab and grab style that he has.
You call that a clinic? O dear. How long exactly have you been watching boxing son? Now which bit of that fight was my favourite. How about the later rounds when Tackie had Hatton on ***** street. Matter of fact il tell you what was a boxing clinic Tsyzu vs Tackie. Now THAT was a clinic at its finest. Hatton decided to feast on Kostya left overs and nearly got KO`ed in the process. But you keep digging skippy.
Okay, I agree to an extent with your first point, Hatton isn't nearly as skilled as Hopkins and relies more on his physical attributes and sometimes this doesn't make for a great fight. With regards to your second point, Hopkins is indeed the more skilled fighter... so much so the gap could span a universe... so he wouldn't need to hold so much, he could use his 'skill' not to? So let me get this right, it's not okay for the more limited fighter to do it, but it's okay for the vastly more skilled fighter to do it to get a breather? By that logic if Hatton said in an interview he did it for a breather, then it would be justified and we'd never see another thread about it? We know Hatton while skilled isn't a slick boxer, so you'd think people might cut him some slack?
hatton looked very impressive in the malignaggi fight when most yanks were picking against him, so whats your excuse for that?
I disagree, it doesn't have to be some smart boxer like Floyd to put on a clinic. Hatton did amazing in that fight, and beat him easily. I feel a comprehensive victory such as this can easily be called a 'clinic' as you say. Look at the cards.
Hatton did look great in that fight, he made Paulie look like they shouldn't be sharing the same ring, so again, you can draw a parallel to Hopkins. Against opponents who are clearly a level below, they excel and show their skills, yet when stepping up in class they do more of what is needed to get by. If that means win ugly so be it. This begs the question once again how Hatton can be constantly berated and Hopkins celebrated... reeks of double standards to any neutral observer
