Maybe it's the consequences of that lethal Pacquiao KO punch...
Remember all the depression problems Joey Gamache have since he suffered a brutal KO against Gatti...

    What excuse is he making?

Have any of you actually heard of depression ? Do you think it only affects the poor ?

He's talking about Hatton saying he was overtrained, left it in the gym etc etc. He's been saying it for 3 years, mate.

and have any of you heard about guys who get hit a lot in the head having more brain problems than your average person? think nhl enforcers, other boxers, wrestlers etc etc. I also think its hilarious all these boxing fans telling a boxer, who was at the top of the sport and got there by being tough and gritty, to suck it up and not be a baby. lawd have mercy

I think Ricky's connection to his fans made the losses harder for him.His whole career he was built as this tough and rough wrecking machine. Then he gets outclassed and knocked out by Mayweather and Pacquiao.
People have to realise everywhere he went for about a decade he was hailed as some great unbeatable fighter(in the uk).All of a sudden he's made to look like a club fighter.Add that to any fighters ego plus his heavy drinking and **** diet.....its a recipe for depression big time.
Give the man a break!Bruno went the same way....the brits should not hype up and put so much pressure on their athletes!

The total disrespect SOME esb posters have for boxers these days is shocking. They are people too!!

I think Ricky has done enough to discredit Pac's victory already, what's next?
Will he come out next week and tell everyone it was not him in the ring but a doubleganger?
Ricky Hatton is a pathetic fat little crack-*****, he needs to stop embarrassing himself and let that **** go.

its great he came forward to speak about this, not just for himself but for others in the same position. Remember hes an idol to others, and this can help others come t terms with their own problems.

If you think he is wrong to talk about it then you've not lived life yet.

Maybe in Manchester or around the north of England. But hatton was always known as a good but not great boxer.

He went in head first and definetely was lacking some skills. The reason Hatton was so popular was not because of his skills or because he was the best, because he wasn't. But because he was a peoples champ. He seemed like he had time for everyone.

    My thoughts too.

Hatton could have rested for a year, then fought on. HE still had his fans then. but depression and cocaine wont help him. oh well, better promote and sniff coke, just like your old promoter oscar.

Y'all don't know ****. Money can't buy you happiness (although it helps) and none of you will ever be professional boxers and you'll never know what it's like, so don't start chatting **** how you'd love to have had his career.
