I watched the news and seen the announcement that Floyd Snr will train Ricky Hatton.

It was rumoured several weeks ago but I think a lot of people found it hard to believe. The conundrum for Floyd Snr is Hatton and DLH's fights being only a few weeks apart. Will they share a gym? Which would be mildly intriguing as DLH wants to fight Hatton allegedly.

It's an interesting story and I'm curious to find out the financial package Floyd Snr has been given and if this is a fight-by-fight deal or a three fight deal so that Floyd trains Hatton until the end of his career.

So what do you all think? Heaven or hell for Hatton and Floyd Snr?

Waste of time. The only trainer that worked for Hatton was Billy Graham. If it aint broke dont try and fix it. Hatton is long in the tooth and a savvy vet who has little left to offer boxing and his time is near. Recruiting Mayweather is simply stupid.

    Hater :deal

I could hardly see Floyd sr turning Hatton into Pernell Whitaker, but if he could get some head movement going and something resembling a jab I don't see anyone touching him at 140lbs.

There has been no statement issued yet by either camp so I'll sit on the fence until I hear it.

But I'm not convinced as to how much more Hatton can learn and want to learn. I'm not convinced that Floyd Snr will be highly motivated by this, he must be getting a shed load of bucks.

Hattons coming up to 50 fights now. If he couldnt learn to move his head and use them short arms of him 10 years ago his not going to learn it now just because Mayweather is in his camp. This wont make a blind bit of diffrence to him as a fighter other than possibly making him worse. What worked worked well for Hatton. Getting rid of Billy was just asinine. If it aint broke dont fix it.

Floyd Mayweather Sr is one of the best trainers in the world, so I expect him to be of benefit to Ricky Hatton

I just hope Ricky doesn't see the video on youtube where Mayweather Sr says: "Ricky Hatton ain't even as good as Gatti".

I do not follow the logic in the choice. Snr is hardly going to be able to turn defensive stylist.

Roach would have been a better choice.

The logic for Floyd Mayweather Sr: The more fighters he works with, the more exposure he gets aswell as more money.

The logic for Ricky Hatton: He is currently without Billy Graham so why not secure a deal with one of the best trainers in the sport currently.

how to teach an old dog new tricks but Floyd sr will definitely enhance hatton's defense game. Maybe too late though.

no hatton needs someone like mayweather snr because he need to leaner spme more defensive skills if he wants to be p4p top 10 in the mayweather fight he came in with most rubbish game plan ever, no dought he was in the best condition of his life so he trained his ball off but just didnt train in the right area's
im not for blaiming trainers for losses i am against it, but that day i believe billy grahem desereved some of the slack hatton got because as a trainer he should of even just slightly antisipated what floyd was gonna come in the ring to do

Prob a little too late.I dont blame ricky for gettin rid of Graham as at the end of the day its his career but i think he should have done it a few years back as he was lookin stale.Fact he was winning helped to paper over the cracks somewhat.Problem is that in the last few Hatton fights he didnt seem to be listening to his corner. It will be interesting to see whether he will put his complete trust in Mayweather.
