It was physically tough and even Mayweather was not overconfident. Hatton was too damn nervous to follow the so-called Game plan. He made a fight out of it until mid-stage but it was all Mayweather from round six onwards and you could sense that Ricky could go at any time as Mayweather put his punches together and Roger urged him to do so. It could have happened with Hatton in the corner in round 8 but he fought back with a good right under heavy fire. Eventually, he would be caught by one of those left hooks he didn't even see coming in that same corner he was trapped before. I only gave rounds 3 and 6 ( where he was deducted a point fairly) to Hatton and had Mayweather 88-82 at the end of the ninth - this was NOT Mayweather's toughest fight by any means, not even tougher than his last fight against Oscar or the one with Zab, I'm afraid to say... Castillo was the hardest.
hey newbie... shut the **** up scorecards dont mean ****... i guess you think casa beat cruz right? lol... learn to score a fight newb. this was without a doubt one of floyds toughest fights and i bet you he would say the same thing
I had Hatton winning maybe 2 rounds...Possibly a third... He fought great. His head was just going straight back. Straight back. Floyd was nailing him over and over. He was winning, easy. Aggression don't get you **** if you fail to land punches. Ricky wasnt hitting Floyd a lot, and Floyd was at work doubling his connects. A dominant performance.
I'm from London, I just watched the fight and wasnt suprised one bit by the outcome. Surely true boxing fans knew hatton had a "punchers chance" but thats all he had. Hatton had no chance of out-boxing PB. Being brutally honest, hatton had no right being in the ring with PB. I blame DLH, Hopkins, Mosely and all the other fighters that tricked Hatton into believing he had a chance. Hatton said he didnt realise how good PB was on the inside:huh What did Hatton expect. A lot of you in States dont give PB the respect he deserves and Hatton has obviously being reading to much into the PB hate once he got to your side of the atlantic. PB "gatti'd Hatton". Hatton's game, but Floyd is a true student of boxing. PB is an intelligent fighter, you Americans should be backing him. We came over and booed your national anthem:-( but you still love us or do you not support your great fighters anymore? Anyway I was cheering PB from the get go. Hatton was always going to get hit by the right hand lead and left hook all day. He got a lot to learn, but i feel it's too late. At least now things can get back to normal, Hatton wasnt impressive, he rarely is.
Dont like Mayweather but honestly Hatton did not land one meaningful punch. Its called effective aggression for a reason. Bottom line he wasnt effective. Case closed.
