Was it one of this mates though? Sounds like the Daily Mail spoke to a bloke in a bar in Tenerife and ran with the "story". An "unnamed source" usually just means the journo has no source but still wants to run the article.
Ricky Hatton offered Juan Manuel Marquez showdown Ricky Hatton is being offered a showdown with Juan Manuel Marquez to rekindle his passion for boxing. Hatton's US promoters Golden Boy are alarmed by the Hitman's claim he may quit because he has grown disillusioned. Golden Boy chief Richard Schaefer said: "Marquez really wants Ricky Hatton, and so I'll talk to Ricky's people. "Maybe both of those guys will fight each other in September in Manchester." http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/more-...juan-manuel-marquez-showdown-115875-22099187/
Hatton has grown disillunsioned with the sport ?? Cheeky ****. He means he doesn't want to put in the effort to get back down to 140 :deal Why not just say it
Good decision. As a spectator it would have been interesting to watch Khan/JMM/Oscar vs Hatton, but it's a wise move to retire. He lost to the two best fighters in their primes, and there's no definitely no shame in that.
Just on SSN that he'll announce his retirement next week. Went into the gym and there was just nothing there apparently.
If that is the case then it's time to pack it in...:yep I have had some great nights out and weekends in Las Vegas watching Hatton, some great memories...:yep I hope he has a great retirement and has been stated gets back that common touch with the punters which seems to have gone recently...:good
