Hatton has always been and always will be out of Witter's league

Well with Hatton set to headline in New York with Malignaggi towards the end of the year, then a fight with Mayweather in front of 90,000 fans in England set for the spring, this yet again proves that Hatton just simply has bigger fish to fry than Junior Witter.

In this time, Witter will probably fight Timothy Bradley (?) and Ricardo Torres.

    Gulf in class.

Hatton would be brutally handled by Witter. If Hatton had any confidence in this matchup he'd of fought Witter years ago.

In terms of their abilities as fighters, there will always be that debate unless they actually get it on.

However, in terms of their PPV potential, popularity with the public etc, Hatton will always be miles in front of Witter.

For me, Hatton is out of Witter's league as a fighter as well. People are judging Junior on the Harris performance, which was excellent, but did they see the fights against Morua (taking nine to stop a club fighter), Lynes (who should have beaten him) and others, which were terrible. From what I understand (having not seen it), but for the two knockdowns, the NDou fight would have been a draw as well!

It's a pity, because Junior is top class, but he has done little to endear himself to the boxing fans, and public as a whole.

Im 100% certain Witter would beat Ricky. Ive said this for years, and continue to believe it.

Witter is a good fighter but Hatton is all wrong for him. Hatton is relentless, whereas Witter takes his foot off the gas so often in fights its infuriating.

I'd like to see Hatton fight Witter, but I wouldn't be arsed if he never did, so long as he fought other top contenders instead like Torres, Malinaggi and Cotto.

Yup! I've never understood why people would favour Hatton over the two. To me it seems obvious where the real talent lies. Plus Hatton is painfully open to a counter right hook.
Also considering Witters inconsistancy (Lynes and N'dou) I cant imagine Witter not being 'up' for a Hatton fight.
    Sadly It'll never happen.

Oh and don't forget, Hatton has the option of a fight with Pac if he so chooses.

Pac next summer, Wembley again? Another 90,000 fans, sounds good...

Hatton's going to have a very good resume when he retires, wins over Pac and Malignaggi and another loss to Floyd.....he'll also be ****ing loaded, PPV sales of Pac/Malignaggi/Mayweather fights would be big here (all three) and in the USA (Pac/Mayweather)....plus a share of the gate receipts with 180,000 fans watching the two fights in total, plus a standard purse for the fights....

Witter's resume will be average. Maybe he can earn some money by doing after dinner speeches about how he clung on desperately to Hatton's coat tails only to be shook off and forced to fight at his own level against Bradley and co....

(Hatton should get a new trainer for a Floyd rematch, he needs to start boxing a bit more and starting off attacks with a bit more skill rather than leading with his face)

I think Words has it correct.

Witter is very awkward, and at times, has appeared to be devastating. On the flip side, sometimes he looks like he has never had a fight in his life, or just takes the foot off the gas.

Hatton, meanwhile, will continue marching on all day long, no let ups, putting the opponent under pressure throughout.

Both seem to be the other's worst nightmare - Hatton is prone to a counter right, whilst Witter has looked poor against guys who come forward, that are capable of walking through his shots.

I cant knock Hatton too much for ducking Witter when he's fought KT and Floyd. Risk reward ratio I suppose. Its just a shame because I think it'd be a pretty good fight.

    :rofl :rofl :rofl

I don't think Witter could fill a function room of guests to be honest. More a bedsit.

Hatton is more popular and gets bigger fights. That's not in question. How does that mean there is a gulf in class? A lot of people think Witter would beat him. I think there's a reason he has avoided Witter for years.

There's a gulf in class in terms of their resume. There's a gulf in class in terms of the stage they have fought on. There's a gulf in the money they've earned. There's a gulf in how many fans they have. There's a gulf in class between who their future opponents will be respectively. There would be a gulf in class if they fought because Hatton would beat him.

The 'a lot of people' who think Witter would win have barely seen him fight, he flatters to deceive, he takes 2 minutes off per round, he throws 10 punches a round, it takes him an age to pick a shot......his style is all wrong for beating Hatton, he's too indecisive to do it.

I think Hatton should fight the best in his divison. Thats means he should fight Paulie,Witter, and Torres to prove he is the best in the division. If he beats all three then he is in the Hall of Fame if he don't then I don't think he's in.
