Ricky Hatton weighs about 147lb right now and that means that he was about 190 lb when he started training. Even though he says he is in the best shape of his life that can't be good for him.

Yeh that cannot be healthy to fluctuate like that. I'm no expert but common sense tells me that a guy like Mayweather (who stays in great shape 24/7) would be healthier and in overall better shape, regardless of how hard Hatton trains. Just my .2

He's gotta be in fabulous shape now, but sooner or later, this balooning up in between fights will catch up to him.

Exactly . . . if you're not giving your body enough chance to settle down and your weight keeps fluctuating . . . it will have an adverse effect sooner or later.

Isn't that mild for him? I thought he usually went well over 200

    Shades of Duran right there.

And it caught up with him, too.

Wow. Over 200lb, that's probably why he struggled in the later rounds against Collazo.

There is such a thing as overtraining, though. It's good to let your body rest in between fights, even if that means you put on 10-15lbs.

Still, gaining 40+lbs between fights is ridiculous.

Against Mayweather it might mean trouble for Hatton late in the fight.

    True and true!

Overeating and crashing it off murders the body.

That means he was up @ 190? What does that mean? Does Box rec. verify this info for this fight coming up? Is it credible? From what I've been reading here he's tried to modify his habits so he would not baloon up so much, and in those pictures where everyone's been callig him fat, he looks maybe 165 or 170 max. 190, is it true!!!!!!!!!
