The three biggest stars to come out of britain in recent years.

How does the ESB community feel about how they turned out? Did they meet expectations? Did the fulfill their hype?

    Let's analyze this.

Haye- Exciting when he's fighting a limited fighter, he has heavy hands for his size but not spectacular power for a HW. Had huge hype recently he did not live up to. Poor chin.

Hatton- This guy got so much hype it's unbelievable. He is the "average joe's" fighter. A true man of the people. Unfortunately he fought like an average joe. After amassing an undefeated record of bums and a washed up KT, he received a huge amount of hype signing the Mayweather fight. He went on to get KO'd cold twice and embarrassed, proving he could only hack it on the B level. He did not live up to the hype. Can't take a punch.

Khan- This was the guy I thought could actually do something in the sport. He still might have some potential if he can pull a Wladimir but I don't think he's that smart. He just keeps losing, and still has some hype. Smart money bets against him his next fights. He did not live up to the hype. Poor punch resistance.

After researching these fighters, I realize they are the brightest stars to come from britain in recent years, and they all share similarities. They all have poor punch resistance, and don't come close to living up to the hype.

I ask you, ESB, why are all these british fighters seemingly overhyped with poor punch resistance? It's uncanny.

Hatton, over achieved - people thought he was a weak champ until he beat Kosta and went off to take bigger challanges.

Haye - did very well. 2 weight champ who beat 2 established champions in their backyard to win the belts. exciting style. acted like a total ***** outside of the ring.

Khan - was a phenom, winning silver at 17. has some good wins, but also some terrible defeats. will never live up to his potential but still has a lot of heart and shows no fear.

Haye- His 'poor chin' took Wlads shots all night, I think the poor chin shown in his cruiserweight days what due to making weight, ever with this poor chin he is a cruiser ATG.

Hatton- Did brilliantly, no one thought he had the skill level to reach what he did, only ever lost to Pacquiao and Mayweather, how many other fighters can say this?

Khan- Fights the boxers people want to see him against, bad defence and chin, but still was a world champion, if more fighters were like Khan we would see bigger fights.

You also forget to mention Burns and Froch who are going very well at the moment, I wonder why you chose to do that.

They all fall just short of becoming true elite. Hatton never had much of a chance against Floyd. Haye lost to Wlad and probably won't ever beat him. Khan looked like he was on his way to ruling 140 but ran into Garcia and that didn't end very well for AK. I don't see Khan reaching top level outside of maybe a fluke win.

Even Lennox shared the chin issue that seems to be a recurring pattern with these guys, though he achieved a lot unlike the recent british stars. Maybe it's cause he was Canadian?

Doesn't change the fact he calls himself British and was born here.

Why you so mad towards Britain today?

Carl froch must be glass, wlad couldn't hurt glass chin haye thus exposing his puncher myth, hatton was just a 140lb average bloke who became world champ, and khan is a **** so how is he brittish.

Aren't you the guy who said current McCall would beat either Klitschko in a 20 round fight?

I'm not sure if I can trust you.

Haye was the best of the bunch, but no time for him. only interested in easiest fights for highest money possible.

Hatton was very difficult fighter to beat. and rated just fine. He showed that in how he destroyed malignaggi. Only lost to the very best.

Khan - Lots of time for Khan. Straight from defeat, he's straight back to try and win all his belts back. A flawed fighter. But so is Cotto and i love him too. Khans career will be full of great wins and some shocking defeats over the next 5 years. And it will be fun to watch.
I'd rather that than more Mayweathers or Hayes that ***** about fighting once every 18 months

For once I agree with you. Though Froch will never be a great boxer, he is good. He has accomplished more than these 3 yet gets very little hype. How sad.
