Outhink a fighter who is faster, quicker, and is more versatile in his overall skill ability???????

You got to be kidding me......

The one thing Hatton cant afford to do is get in a thinking war with Mayweather.

It wont be a thinking game if Hatton is to win......sure he'll have to be smart and fight Mayweather in as close a quarters as he possibly can.
The smart play for Hatton will be in smuthering and tieing up Mayweather when he puts his speed to use and lets his punches go.....

.....but other than that, for Hatton to win, he's not going to do so by outhinking Mayweather in a tactical fight.
If he does that, he gift wrapping the fight to Mayweather.

Hatton will have to push the fight by being the clear aggressor and roughousing Mayweather on the inside. When Hatton needs a break, and Mayweather wants to put in bursts of speed when punching, Hatton will need to smother and tie up Floyd, while looking for his opportunity to land at close quarters while both fighters are tied up on the inside.

If Mayweather is able to hold his own on the inside, then Hatton is in for a long night. If he does'nt, then Hatton is going to beatdown and punish Mayweather.

Hopefully for our enjoyment, there will be some tide changes where in instances Hatton will be able to attack ferouciously, with Mayweather making some adjustments where he's countering Hatton's aggression.
.......if this happens, then its going to come down to who the better conditioned fighter is in the championship rounds, and it will be a hell of a fight!:yep

......but make no mistake, Hatton will not win a tactical battle!

The Hatton that showed up for Kostya stands a good chance. That sheer determination may just be too much for Floyd.

Lots of people believe Castillo won the first fight. (Possibly even Floyd, hence the decisive rematch).

But Floyd could stop Ricky or outpoint him. Ricky's fate is really in Floyd's hands. It's his to win, or lose if he's insufficiently prepared or makes a mistake.

The only difference I see here is that DLH and Castillo I believe have better defense than Hatton. They could get inside without paying a huge price. I think Hatton is going to get hit to often when he comes in and maybe get discouraged, which will lead to alot of potshotting in the middle of the ring, a place where Hatton has no shot, but who knows maybe Hatton will be successful thats just my assessment

FYI, Hatton is undefeated. No one has figured him out--look for the odds to even fight night.

Maybe so. What do you want Ricky to do? Let's cancel the fight and save him from the terrible beating that awaits him. It's already a fore-gone conclusion that he loses. May we should cancel this lop-sided slugfest.

What I find surprisingly silly from hattons comments are that he thinks hes going to be doing all the chasing, & Floyd will be going backwards. If Ricky has watched as many tapes of Floyds fights as he said he has, he should realise that Mayweather might just surprise him by meeting him head on. & thats what Hatton & his fans should worry most about, cos if Floyd stands his ground & trades then it will be over for Ricky VERY quickly.

I dont buy it that Floyds going to run. looks like Hatton does. big mistake Ricky, & I hope hes got a plan B up his sleeve when he realises he cant bully Floyd(well I dont really):D

    Hey how you doin buddy?:good

Yup, its gettin so bad over on ESB brit forum with all those Calzaghe & Haye threads I have had to have a wee wander over here to have some fun! I bet you feel the same, cos ESB brit forum has become murder to post on recently, its even making boxrec look exciting!

Anyway, sorry for going off topic. To answer your question Gaz, trust me, Floyd can fight on the front foot when he feels like it. Maybe 'trade' was a bad choice of word, cos when Floyd throws in anger, he doesnt take much back. I can think of one fight apart from the obvious Gatti one where Floyd took the fight to his oppent, & beat him spectacularly. 3 overhand rights in the blink of an eye finishing off the job. Philip N'Dou.

Floyd is a defensive mster, but he doesnt always deploy this tactic. If Hatton doesnt win his respect early, its a Gatti style beatdown coming his way.

Again you people bring Castillo up and DLH....if you pay attention both those fighters are taller bigger and longer with effective jabs! Hatton will come into this fight with neither. Hatton better have a plan B and be prepared to change game plans on the fly because Floyd has seen pressure maybe not as good as Hatton maybe so but one things for sure....Hatton has never seen ANYTHING like what he will see Dec. 8th and for his sake i hope he really doesnt come in banking on one tactic or plan.:patsch

You can't compare Gatti to Hatton Dunky. Gatti was a very exciting fighter but even at his prime he never had skills of Hatton, plus he was shot when he fought Mayweather...PBF huggers seem to take Mayweather-Gatti and Hatton-Callazo as the only two benchmarks. Gatti was shot for one fight and Hatton was overweight and on short notice for the other.

Lets hope Enzo gives it to Haye though, eh??
