I might be sounding daft here but how can hatton and hopkins who don't get me wrong are great fighters can be the recognised champion without an alphabelt belt. Can somebody help me out please, by the way both do deserve to be champions in there divisions.atsch
Hatton beat Tszyu who at the time never lost his undisputed status In the ring, even though Tszyu only held the Ibf title.
Hopkins isn't lineal at 175lbs. Erdei is, after beating Gonzalez in 2004. Plenty of people assume Hopkins is, because of the Tarver/Jones connection, but Jones was never lineal at light heavyweight, as he didn't beat "the man" at that time, Michalczewski.
God that linear stuff is the biggest load of **** that god put breath into, It is not rocket science, look who the guy has beat in the divsion and who has the better record in the man.
Hopkins is not lineal but is rightly considered the champ at 175 :good Jones undisputed > Tarver > Hopkins.

Hatton is the IBO 140lbs champion and Hopkins is the RING 175lbs champion. Hopkins beat Tarver for the IBO/ RING 175lbs strap.
