Yes of course he did. Fighting a powder puff puncher with brittle hands who was the worst belt holder in 140lbs history is really a benchmark of serious improvement. I mean why fight Bradley Holt Torres or Witter when you can fight Paulie.

C'mon playa.. I know you don't like Hatton, but mad cats were thinking Malinaggi would be too slick for him.

This fight is 50/50 to me - the only thing I worry for Hatton is the southpaw stance. People can bang on about speed all day long but no-one touches Floyd for the overall package, including speed, and Ricky did 'OK' against him, so I have a good feeling Manny's in for a rough ass fight.

Pac shows his speed movin forward, not dancin away from his guy. And he's quick on his feet and wit his hands. Hatton's just blowin smoke comparin Pac to Paulie.

No. No one though Hatton Paulie was a 50/50 fight. Paulie could have been fighting a tin of beans and it still wouldnt have been a 50/50 fight. And Hatton historically has ALWAYS had trouble with southpaws. This is a southpaw that can punch, is fast, and has excellent footwork. Mannys in for an easy night.

What really got to me was the look on Paulie's face, in his eyes!

I don't think I have ever seen a fighter looking so ****ing scared inside the ring before as Paulie was that night against Ricky. **** me! He looked like the Yorkshire Ripper was chasing him around the slums/ghettoes of North Manchester!

He was definitely not as scared against Miguel Cotto as he was against Ricky Hatton. No where near!

I'll never forget that look in his eyes and that weird double jab/push/nudge/scardy cat protection thing he did when he realised he couldn't get away from Hatton and was jumping back, doing all he could to escape him. Remember? I haven't explained it well but I'm sure if anyone has any idea what I'm talking about, you will defo remember that part. I would love to get a gif of that, by the way, if anyone knows of one:)

Are you honestly compairing your boxing talent with that of an ex-belt holding, World class boxer?

    Honestly?

It's all well and good belittling the skills/toughness/power of a boxer but let's be honest now, there is a reason that they face the compitition they face and make the money they make and you... well, you just don't.

Malinaggi disappointed that night, he didn't even show up to fight. For Hatton to use the Paulie he fought as a measuring stick for his greatness shows how weak the opposition he has faced and won against is. He beats Koysta, a faded one at that, and then goes around talking like he proved ****. He hasn't fought a live body at 140 since Koysta and I hope he gets his weak ass knocked out by Pac, if he does, you best expect his weak ass to retire because no way in hell he is fighting Torres, Holt, Bradley, nor Campbell.

no i didnt compare my talent to pm, what i was trying to do was put across a point that speed is useless when there is absolutely nothing behing it, as soon as that fight was made i knew hatton would walk through pm punches

    Scurla, you are insane!

The vast majority of posters on here, boxing fans elsewhere (less so in the UK, obviously) and many boxing pundits (particularly in the USA) either had Paulie for the win, or could only see the fight as a 50/50 pick.

Everyone was saying that Paulie McMalignaginagilaginaginoo was just going to far too slick and fast for Ricky, who's hard living had caught up with him, who was past it, too slow and had either lost it or never had it.

**** me! Were they proved wrong!

Scurla, please find us your prediction for the Hatton Vs Mali fight (don't let us see "Edited by Scurla 18th April, 2009) or else you will get an even worse name for yourself on here!If you show us an unedited post by you in which you suggest that the fight will go down anywhere near how it did,, then you will have all my respect, for all time! I honestly believe though, that like in every single other of Rick's fights, you have gone for obnoxiously stated that Ricky will be "exposed" and smugly explain to us all how **** Ricky is.
I don't mean to be having a dig at you, Scurla mate. You're a decent lad and a pretty good poster, until you get on the subject of Ricky Hatton and then all intelligent reasoning goes out of the window and you become a bit... weird, really.
To be perfectly fair with you, though, you really are no where near as bad as you used to be! You aren't even 10% as bad as you were around the Floyd fight. **** me! You were unbearable then, mate!!;)

    indeed gentlemen.

it baffles me that some actually picked paulie to beat hatton.

i mean, from his gift decision against Ngoudjo to his lack luster performance against N'dou, i thought many would see that the paulie that fought cotto was dead. and since cotto, paulies been over promising & under delivering with excuse after excuse.

hatton didnt need mayweather sr to steamroll princess paulie IMO.

lazcano was a handpicked blown up lightweight whom had been inactive for 15 months prior to fighting ricky. -i know.

but fact still remains that ricky won decisively. and juan wasnt a feather fisted drag queen with a 18% KO ratio.
