Hatton: I never asked Roach to train me, I'll decide when to retire

He knows once he's gone he's gone. I bet he's worried he'll end up like Frank Bruno - once the curtain falls and there's no audience for his little jokes he won't know what to do with himself other than stuff his face.

 

It's taking him an awful long time to decide whether he's going to retire or not. I'm getting a bit sick of hearing this - will he/wont he.

Personally, I think the lure of stag do's and having a fortune in the bank will mean we never see Hatton back in the ring.

The hunger has probably gone, which is fair enough because he's earned a fortune, been a two weight world champion, been in some wars, and got destroyed in his last fight.

No reason for you to come back Ricky. Have a nice, early retirement with good health!!

 

Such a shame he will never truly have reached his potential.

He could've trained every single day of his life,eating his 5 a day,never touching a drop of alchohol and he would've still got beat by the men he did.

I have no interest in this now. By the time he gets an opponent sorted a completes a training camp it'll be well over a year since the Pacquiao fight and all of that time he's been walking around at 200lbs. If he had any interest in convincing boxing fans that he was still worth watching he'd have kept himself in reasonable shape at the very least. I assume he'll be aiming his farewell fight at pissed up football fans who don't know any better then, nice one Ricky :verysad

 

Without wanting to slag Hatton off he could have done at lot worse than asking Roach to train him. And if he is generally being truthful (I doubt it) when he says he has never even considered it, then he is dafter than I originally thought
