Ricky means what he says, he cares about his fans and it is ****ing obvious.
To the tit going on about charging people for ppv's ,i hope you know how ridiculous that is. Do you realise there are people involved in a fight than just Ricky Hatton ? Like the opponent for instance ?atsch

 

He probably will actually, but he'll be hoping the better man wins not rooting for one over the other due to some banal, stella artois drinkers' notion of national patriotism. Boxing is a sport where one individual competes against the other, it's not an international sport, therefore Hatton is not representing anyone and therefore not letting anyone down if he loses.

btw, my user name comes from a song by Horace Andy, the song is an homage to Leroy Sibbles, the one time lead singer of the Heptones and a fantastic bass guitarist.

 

Don't call people a tit. It just shows that you're thick and can't disagree with another person without getting angry. Why do you believe Hatton cares so much about his fans? I'm sure he cares that they pay him his millions. Ray Robinson once fought for a dollar, the rest of the gate went to cancer research, the loser got nothing. That's caring about something. Saying I won't let you down by the way you all owe me £15 isn't.

I don't believe that because someone is gaining a lot a money from fans(like football player...i mean, who's paying for any pro sports player????) he doesn't care about them...

That being said i would never considered that a fighter did let my down by losing. Neither any pro sports player....

Because i have faith in people and think i know when a person is genuine. If you can't trust your own judgement what can you trust ? I have met Hatton briefly and being from Manchester know many, many people who have met him and know him. ALL have only good things to say about him.
In addition i have followed his career from day one, watched his fights, seen his interviews and from all this i just believe he is a genuine guy.
Sorry i can't come up with anything more concrete, and solid truth that proves he is sound. Sometimes you just have to have some faith.

He doesn't care enough to have a contract with itv or the bbc, where everyone can watch his fights for free minus the licence fee. Why doesn't he take less money, does he care more about his fans or about his multi millions? I repeat myself, you don't have to pay £15 every time you want to watch football on television. By all means charge for tickets, by all means get some cash from the tv deal but don't do your 'man of the people' act and it is an act, at the same time-that's the only thing I have a problem with, although a couple of people are clearly too inarticulate to gather such. Every boxer with a name makes their money the same way, but the working class hero tosh is just insulting people's intelligence. That's what I object to, not his bank balance, his hypocrisy.

 

He's not ****ing Mother Theresa, everyone has a right to make as much as they can from there chosen profession. His fans snd supporters don't have a problem with it, why should you ?

 

DO you know a lot a pro sport player who take less cash to please the fan? You know what, i tend to agree with you but to specifically blame it on Hatton sounds more like hate.

These Kool-Aid drinkers thirst for anything rational (like your intelligent posts) has dried-up. This Hatton guy thinks he's talking to all 4 continents of the world (that's how disillusion he is in believing the whole world is behind him).

So by turn any Boxer who fights on PPV cares not a jot about their fans only money?.

You don't think Hatton and Pac get swelled up with pride when they see all the fans who've turned out to see them?
Hatton seems to feel a sense of duty to perform and so he should as do any sportsmen who charge fees and ask people to travel to support them
