"If I can beat Manny Pacquiao, the world's best pound-for-pound fighter, that would be sensational,"

"I would like to finish the year off fighting Juan Manuel Marquez. He's number two in the pound-for-pound ratings and in doing that and establishing myself as number one, I'd like to think I'd get a rematch with Floyd Mayweather.

"Those three fights will see me to the end of my career. But I can't look at Manuel Marquez or Floyd Mayweather yet as I'm fighting Pacquiao. Let's get that out of the way."

Maybe he thinks that even if if beats Pac some deluded ****ers might still doubt his greatness, these people might say that Juan Manuel Marquez (the current No.2) would move up to No.1 spot......why would they think such a thing:verysad.

By beating Marquez he would close the book on the issue.....the haters would be silenced:p.

After that its just a case of digging up Ray Robinson's corpse and beating the crap out of it.........then Ricky would be the greatest of all time:happy.

Dont forget he still would have to go over to Ali's ring the doorbell wait for him to answer and then Happy Slap him

Then put his name to a cooking appliance, I think then he would never be surpassed:deal

If he beat them both at 135lb I'd be happy to make him p4p no 1.

I will give Hatton credit of he wins against Pacman/Marquez but beating smaller fighters is not enough.
Hatton needs to get wins against bigger opponents like Cotto/Mayweather/Mosely etc to be considered #1 P4P'er

Thats sounds a bit more like it rather than the talk of this fictional, transferable P4P title.

Thing is,if he beats Pac and JMM and then gets a rematch with Floyd(the chances of events unfolding like this are extremely thin I know)he will almost certainly lose against Floyd IMO especially since Snr won't be in his corner. He said he wouldn't retire on a loss and he would rather die than do that(I believe those comments were made after the fight with Floyd)This time though,he says he can retire knowing that the better man beat him(if he loses a rematch)...surely he already knows that Floyd is the superior boxer and the best of this era no less. Its a shame and I don't like to say it but Hatton is all about the $$,that is clearly his main motivation these days.**** it actually, who can blame him really

Roach has said that Pacman is now a 140lb fighter hasn't he?

Cotto is the fight I want to see after Pac and then maybe JMM to finish off with.Cotto has mentioned Hattons name but I'm not sure Hatton will go to 147lb for anyone other than Floyd

At least if he beat Pc and JMM you could make a case for him being #1.

You might have to say Pac still even if he loses to Hatton. His resume is solid since his defeat to Morales
