But he's right imo on this - Hatton beats Pac and JMM - then he is undisputed 140 King - 140 king HOFer at least....But to be P4P No1- he has to prove himself by moving up at least one weight.
It's a matter of opinion anyways isn't it? Hatton's marketing man has got him believeing the hype - Ricky seems blinkered to me - perhaps surrounded by yes men - it could be his undoing.

He should concentrate on being unmoveable at 140 - which he pretty much is - and forget 147/Mayweather and all that goes with being at that 0.001% elite mark .

How many times... p4p is not dependent on division hopping

The whole idea is a theoretical comparison of guys who can't fight each other because they are different weights

Of course winning above your natural weight is a bonus but it isn't an essential nor should it be

Plenty of great fighters have been one weight fighters

Well P4p - means that exactly...It's like the fact a Honey badger can fight off a leopard, or a flea can outjump a man or kangaroo...The P4P rankings ( all opinions of course ) are supposed to reflect the fact that should the subject is bettewr than everyone else in the sport should everyone weigh the same.

That's my take on it anyways - and i like Hatton - but he is not the best boxer P4P .

True. If Hatton beats better natural 140 lbs fighters more impressively than Pacquaio beats natural 135 lbs fighters, he is better. But he hasn't so far. So he's not. :conf

(He won't if he beats Pacquiao either...or JMM...they're guys who came up from 130 lbs...even lower in fact...)...should they be penalised for having beaten the very best at their weights and moved up to take on even bigger challenges? Hell no.:good

So - do you think - all things being equal - that Hatton is the best boxer/fighter out there today ?

Sure beat one featherweight and then another featherweight to claim P4P#1. Sounds like a good deal

I definitely give him a shot at beating both of them. But if Mayweather comes back he will be top man and Hatton will never beat him.
