yes, cutting and putting that much weight overnight has it's advantages, but it can also be a double edged sword.
Clottevs Chico. And yes, Mayorga gaining 18lbs did help him, if it wasn't for those 18lbs, he would've been gone sooner.
The key is if Hatton can put on that weight without sacrificing speed and mobility. If he can weigh 154 and still be sharp and pacy, Pac will have trouble dealing with him. If he comes in at 154 for strength but loses a bit of speed and a bit of bounce, he's in a whole world of trouble, because Pacquiao will slice and dice him at hyperspeed.
being heavier doesnt mean youre gonna win the fight. you'll be stronger but you'll lose some speed also.
Theres been some pretty dumb posts in this thread and I don't just mean the 2 kids banging on about their avatars. Weigh ins were moved to 24 hours before the fight because when they did them on the day of the fight boxers were getting into the ring dehydrated, weak with not enough fluid surrounding their brain which made them more likey to suffer brain damage. As long as a fighter makes the stipulated weight at the weigh in then its entirely up to him how much weight he can try and gain inbetween then a fight time. Its not cheating....
hmm... hatton will probably have a 4-5 lb weight advantage during the fight. pac will come in at 149-150 max. he has to do this to preserve his speed and not be sluggish during the fight. pac knows that his speed will be the key here.
I can't see Pac worrying about hs weight, for him to win the weight isn't an issue. I hope Hatton doesn't get too caught up in it either if he rehydrates to anything over 152 then thats normal and he should be pleased with that.
