Hatton has already made more cash than his abilities as a fighter merited.

He ought to just call it a day with dignity rather than getting knocked the **** out again, as he would do to Marquez and DLH.

The last thing he needs is people turning against him, which they might......

Would he actually get a licence to box anyway?

The interview he gave to Ian Darke a while back was a bit dodgy, unless he had just had a few sherbets :yep

Two guys who lost to arguably the best p4p fighter of a generation in their last fight facing off against one another?

Two guys who have the biggest fan bases in modern day boxing going at it?

Two guys who have won a shitload of world titles between them squaring up to one another?

Thats one helluva comeback fight for both guys if you ask me, in fact, its one helluva fight FULL STOP.

How anyone can moan about Hatton V De La Hoya is beyond me to be honest...

He can **** right off with the DLH fight

If he thinks he can get his weight down and wants another fighter then go for JMM, I still think Hatton can produce at a decent level and isnt completely done as everyone seems to think. Hattons been gettin such a rough ride since the Pac fight.

He'll probably get KOed by JMM though, just hope people don't forget that he was a very good fighter

This. JMM needs to stay at lightweight (or retire if he's not up for it anymore), Oscar needs to stay retired (or no lower than 154 if he comes back), and Hatton needs to stay at 140 or 147 against legitimate 140 and/or 147 pounders (or retire if he can't reasonably make either weight anymore).

Its a fight i've never liked the sound of. I've always felt DLH would be too big for Ricky.

Now it would be worse as what weight could DLH realistically fight at?

If Ricky wins....I wouldn't really care
If DLH wins....again,who would actually care.

**** build up with no animosity what so ever between the fighters
Sky trying to convince us all that this is a Mega fight.

See what your saying Dunky but Nah,not for me.

I ain't interested in Hatton fighting again - If he does, I'd have an Itch to see him get sparked clean out in devastating fashion...

He got beat (badly) by two of the greatest fighters to ever lace them up (and that is no exaggeration!!).

Hatton is 31 years old - fair enough perhaps it is old for his style, but he's not old in years.

I'm not sure how much he has left, I don't think he was ever that great, but I think people need to appreciate how good a prime Floyd and Pac are (the one walked over JMM - turned it into a total non event, the other made a near mockery of Cotto and humiliated Oscar, who he himself says couldn't leave the house for weeks through embarrassment at the total beat-down Pac gave him.)

IMO, Hatton was simply never in their league - I'm not sure that automatically means he's shot or he's never been any good.

How much he has left? I don't know - but seeing him get done over by Floyd and Pac perhaps doesn't provide the answer.

Well even seasoned punters on here don't seem to be interested.

and I doubt Oscar's legion of fans will be booking tickets and jumping on planes in their droves, a couple of thousand at most.

The myth of Hatton was destroyed with his last two fights. Sun readers got carried away thinking he could be one of the greatest and jumped on the bandwagon.

With Pac's brutal KO, the nation collectively sighed. His legion of beerswillers went back to work once the spectacle ended, the tabloids stopped their love in with him.

If you think Hatton and ODLH will sell Wembley out five times over, I think you will be bitterly disappointed. Khan is the new hot ticket and only that fight holds such serious marketing potential.

You are clearly not a boxing fan of any kind if you think it was his "LAST TWO FIGHTS" his LAST fight was Pac, before that it was a beat down of Paulie Mags.....clearly the magic man beat down did not destory his myth, what you clearly mean is the pac and floyd fight...the fact that he lost to those two guys does not make him a worthless fighter..it means he isnt a pound for pound great..most people knew that before the fight.

You're right, i did mean Pac and Floyd, but to get one thing straight I never said he was a worthless fighter. But he has enjoyed swollen PPV sales and a travelling army due to the hype the Sun lavished him with...and circumstances have altered since then.

he was built as the Brit who would storm the USA and beat them all. then he lost to Floyd, and everyone kinda said 'well yeah, he is a living great of his era'. and few fights back in the saddle and then he lost to Pac BADLY (who of course is another ATG). These weren't close fights btw - he never landed a punch on either and was left with two embarrassing KOs. Fans were disappointed and won't forget how badly he compared to the real boys.

so yeah, the myth was exposed. I'm not having a go at Hatton, but the myth was created that he could beat these guys and become some sort of ATG. He didn't and everyone knows that now.

I'm not trying to hate or be controversial, I'm just saying the average bloke who would have paid for Hatton's PPVs are not interested in him anymore. Khan is that new media goldenboy with titlefights and world domination at his fingertips. Fighting a washed up Oscar and a PR overdrive won't sell out stadiums these days. Especially when every pic of him in the papers shows him five or six stone overweight. It is reminiscent of Jake Lamotta when his life goes into meltdown...Hatton is like that now, he looks like a retired fat man living the good life.

That energy, determination, drive, focus...to beat Kostya and dominate the world...just isn't there any more and doesn't resonate with the common fan. The comments on here I quoted show that. Most people feel both fighters are just after an easy £10m and don't really care a **** for this.

I'd be vaguely interested in seeing him against Marquez but not De La Hoya.

Hell, I'd still watch him against Oscar and so would every ****er here. We go all week with nothing so when it comes to the weekend everybody here wants to watch a fight no matter what it is. No getting away from how meaningless and transparent that fight is though.

    me too mate, me too......

honestly, it's been obvious all along he's gonna fight again. He's been saying for months 'Wicky might get a lickle bit of an itch back and then who knows...'
that's been his new catchphrase after he had to dump the 'Wicky 'Atton is a handful' line after getting banjoed by Pac.
it's always me, myself and I with this joker.
