I read in the paper this week that Ricky Hatton is on the verge of leaving Hes best buddy and long time trainer Billy Graham which comes as abit of a shock considering hattan as stated many times that they would stay together right till the end , apparently hattons brother mathew has already left him so i wonder what has happend behind the scenes , and could the mayweather loss be a factor ?

It would be a mistake. Hatton is what he is. If he is looking for a trainer that will try to turn him into a different fighter at this point of his career he can expect to lose again soon.

No other trainer will help Hatton. He is what he is and is one-d fighter. So he just needs to stick with Graham

A move like this would've been great for Ricky a long time ago. Not sure about now. That douchebag trainer of his just allows Hatton to just jump around all over the place and come in with nothing but wide shots. Which both expends a lot of energy and leaves him very open for counters.

This move by Hatton is long overdue.

I don't think he's going to be able to change much for his last two fights. The last thing he wants to do, this late in the day, is try and start jabbing and moving with Pauli and Pac. More of the same is what is required and he should come through those fights. He may well lose else.

Perhaps he can no longer get on with Graham, they've just fallen out.

    It won't happen.

If he was going he'd have gone by now. By getting rid of Graham he would lose conditioner Kerry Kayes and probably cutsman Mick Williamson - plus a lot of his 'boy next door' image.

Great loyalty, especially since he only has two fights left.

maybe its overdue but it hasnt done him to bad up till this point , but what other trainer can teach him any different , he's style is unchangeable at this point in hes career. also its abit late for him to start jelling with a new trainer , he has said he has a couple of fights left so why bother ,

If he thinks he will become a better fighter if he leaves Graham, it's too late in his career. If anything he will become a worse fighter. For the last 20 years or so he has trained with Billy Graham watching over him, and after that long for is to change all of a sudden, it just won't be the same for him.

Billy is horrible. The man uses old worn out beat down gloves for Hatton to hit and he has to get numbing shots to get through it.

The idiot doesnt know how to go out and punch some ****ing punch pads. Why would you want to train with anyone like that? And did he even have Ricky Spar against anyone for the Hatton fight?

I respectfully disagree. Hatton is not at all one dimensional - though he was in the Mayweather fight. If you look at the Tszyu fight, or more clearly the Urango fight, it's plain to see that Hatton has extremely good boxing skills as well as brawling skills. He was outboxing Kostya Tszyu at many different intervals during that fight, and constantly mixing his attack. If he was one dimensional Kostya would have stopped him.

If Hatton had dumped Graham as soon as he made it big that would be not loyal. If their simply not getting on anymore etc... thats not disloyal.

If they weren't getting on why not do it after the mayweather fight. I mean its turing into a soap opera now.
