I thought Hatton put a good performance on Saturday and is still a very tough fighter for anyone at 140.
Well I'll say this. hatton is a very accomplished fighter but not the ATG god that his die hard fans claim he is. I'd say the high point of his career was the Tzyu win. I think that was a great win (though I do think the ref was horrible). I was not the least bit impressed with the castillo win. he got a battle worn past prime old guy above his best weight and simply did what he was supposed to. I would not call Hatton a joke but I do think that his legitamacy as a top p4p fighter is questionable right now. He suffered a pretty devastating loss and so far there is no telling how he will come back from that.
LOL Don't even bother wasting your font.. These Hatton fans are delusional and will gang up and attack you if you say anything thats true about Hatton.. Especially if its negative. They're like his girlfriends.. They protect their man lol.
I am not a brit or a hatton fan for that matter and I thought he deserved the nod against Collazo (as did the majority of people I tlaked to). Collazo came on really strong later in the fight and did a lot of damage. I think he definatly hurt Ricky more than Ricy hurt him but it was too late, Hatton had already built up a lead in the early rounds. I think it was a close fight but easy to score as each round had a pretty clear winner and Hatton won more rounds though he took more damage.
Another day and another hatton bashing thread atsch Question. who is the recognised man at 140 ??? Answers on the back of a postcard please For the dumb ****s and trolls who keep making up these bs threads the answers is Drum roll !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ricky Hatton :deal
Hatton did turn down Cotto and Mayweather when he was the man at the time and opted to take on Carlos Maussa instead.
Wait.... WHAT?? First of all, Link or STFU. :deal Second...... What are you tryng to say? That he "ducked" Floyd? HE FOUGHT FLOYD for ****'s sake! Third, it was his first fight after Tszyu and Maussa had beaten Harris, who everyone was on this forum telling us was THE MAN. Maussa was a champ, and Hatton wanted to unify.
I don't recall ANYONE saying he was an ATG. I stand to be corrected, but even his "fans" seem to be saying he is a very technically limited brawler, but they are fans because he is generally exciting to watch and isn't an ******* out of the ring. I personally like to watch his fights, but I wouldn't call myself a big fan.
Yep, thats pretty much my outlook on the guy.:good He's not an ATG or even an Elite fighter but he's the man at 140 and has been for some time. That at least makes him world class.
Roger Mayweather accused Hatton twice for avoiding Mayweather they wanted Hatton in 2006 for deffo but got sick of waiting for him, Cotto wanted to fight Hatton after he beat Abdullaev, pretty sure they were in agreement to fight after this fight and never happened and Hatton chased the winner of Harris/Maussa instead, he was in attendance for this fight and not the Cotto/Abdullaev one. Im pretty sure they wanted to steer clear of Cotto and Mayweather at 140, in my opinion.
Hatton left a comfort zone in England to set up the eventual fight with Fraud - give credit where credit is due.
