TBH since the Tszyu fight Ricky has been less than convincing...wether that has been with a step up in quality of opponents i'm not sure, but he looked more comfortable with his style earlier in in his career....now he hits and holds, earlier fights he'd hit, push and spin his opponents making them feel pressured and I don't think he does that now in what I see.

He's not, he's boring. This is boxing not sumo wrestling.

The only way I can see him being value for money is if you like to get drunk out of your mind and go for the occasion.

I think he's awful to watch personally. He looked okay when he was beating up inferior opposition but since he stepped it up he's not been aesthetically pleasing at all in my opinion.

I've always thought he stinks the joint out, and even more so in recent years. Lunge, hit, hold, wrestle, hug.....all so frantic and basically shite to watch.
The funny thing is he has the nerve to repeatedly refer to himself as one of the most exciting of recent times comparing himself to Gatti, Chavez, Duran etc and repeating 'there's a method to me madness....the Mexicans love me as I fight like one of them'....it's embarrasing.
Margarito....now there's a real pressure fighter. How often do you see him hug and hold?

I wouldn't pay to see him with stolen money.

If you find WWF 'value for money' you will Sure as hell find Hatton 'value for money'

All those technical suplex's and backbreakers are bringing Ricky in the $$$$$

Yeah Ricky is not as exciting to watch as Sky ect would make you belive, i much prefer to watch clean boxing than wrestling.

He's been pretty bad to watch since the Tszyu fight.

The Urango and Collazo fights were just awful to watch with all that holding.

The Castillo fight was also bad to watch while it lasted but it gets overlooked because of that great body punch in the 4th round.

The Mayweather fight was better but only because the referee wouldn't let him get in close enough and when he did Floyd had the better of him.

Did anybody really think 'oh, what cyberspace really needs are more aimless, meaningless, comments that Hatton is a wrestler'

This has to be the most boring piece of received wisdom out there

He has been in some exciting fights no doubt. The Castillo fight was fantastic while it lasted. Tszyu was incredibly intense, Collazo tight and intriguing. Maussa ended in spectacular KO as did Mayweather to a degree.

Funny that the people who 'hate his style' also hate his jokes, his father, his looks etc etc etc. Bitter, twisted bores.

Hopkins / Joe was criminally bad in terms of clean work but the boxing spectacle is about the contest, not pulling flashy moves.

You must be a closest fanboy to make that sort of statement.

How can you call Hatton value for money? The price of tickets to watch him fight live are very expensive. I paid £500 for a seat at the Mayweather fight (including UK box office surcharge). When I went to the Cotto/Margarito fight, I had a better seat and it cost a lot less.

Nowadays, (do not care about the pre-Zoo fights when he fought bums) Hatton hugs WAYYYYYY too much to make a fight exciting. Compare this to the fast paced action you get when 2 fighters do not hold, you can not compare the value for money.

Also, you get zero quality on a Hatton undercard so there is no additional value there.
