And it is the smart thing to do. He is fighting PBF to avoid PM. I would have done the same.

Think about it. PBF and PM have some serious boxing skills. Very similar. If PBF schools Hatton like a lot o people say he will, then PM could also beat him, though not in the same fashion as PBF would but could still beat him.

So why in hell would he rather risk a 10M plus fight with PBF by fighting a guy that presents similar chalenges stylewise while making only about 3M and risking his biggest payday ever?

Hatton is a smart man. I am not saying he is afraid of him, just that they made a smart move. If Hatton thought he would beat PM easily, he would have fought him first, trust me.

BTW, if PM was fighting at 147 now and was the mandatory for Cotto, he would rather fight PBF than a rematch with PM, for the same reasons. I think Cotto's camp took the PM fight thinking it would be an easier task.

You would of said the same if Hatton signed to fight Witter instead of Mayweather. Get off Paulie's nutsack.

that's one of the dumbest things i've heard. who ducks an easier opponent to take on arguably the top pound for pound fighter in the world? i dont think you can consider that ducking. not only is it a better business move, but it's a great move for his legacy if he were to win, whereas beating malignalli wouldnt do much for his legacy.

Yeah he's ducking Zoolander by fighting the undefeated number 1 p4p in the world. Makes sense I can see the logic in that

I think what he's saying is that Malignaggi and Floyd both present stylistic matchup problems for him. However, he'll fight Floyd because it would represent a career high payday, and people wouldn't knock Hatton for losing the fight. If Hatton were to fight Malignaggi, it would be for far less money, and being that people would expect him to win, his reputation would take a hit if he were to lose.

it has been quoted that the PBF fight has been over a year in the making so if this is a serious post i do not think he is ducking and if hatton wins he may well take this fight in the future if it makes sense.

Though Paulie is a slick and skilled boxer, i would not want to see what Hatton would do to him in the ring. It would be brutal

Thank you vey much. ALl the Hatton manlove dont let some people in here read a post with reason.

    1. Hatton is not afraid of PM

    2. PM and PBF fight very similar, they both have extremelly fast hands and movement (legs)

    3. Even though Hatton has a lot better chance in beating PM than PBF, the dfference in payday does not warrant fighting PM first risking the 10 to 15 million he will make fighting PBF.

If I was Hatton's promoter I would have done the same thing. Take the harder fight and secure enough money to retire if you want.

You guys get ratteled up because I used the work "ducking". If I said he chose PBF, you guys wuld not think it was a dumb post. So I chose the word "duck" for a reason, and it worked :p

And I am a Cotto fan, and if it was Cotto in Hatton's shoes right now I would have the same reasoning. Cotto took on PM, thinking it would be an easier fight. People in here talk a lot about the Judah fight with Cotto, but PM won more rounds vs Cotto. Cotto only beat him by like 2 or 3 rounds at the most.

Cotto would have an easier time vs Torres in a rematch than against PM. Vs Torres, Cotto made mistakes that cost him, almost his title. Against PM he didnt make mistakes, its just that PM is tht good. Maybe 2 years from now, you guys will agree with me.
