I like Ricky, but he lays it on a little thick.

In a way, he's the Floyd Mayweather of regular Joes.

Nas was a superstar of a fighter, but a complete **** most of the time in interviews and in the press,he could have lasted a lot longer to,but for what ever reason seemed to give it all up,he looks fat as hell now, though im sure his millions in the bank makes it all ok

Well lets see..he lives in the same area he has always done rather than move to a huge house in a rich area. How many sports stars do that when they grew up in a working class area?
He has the same friends he always had instead of suddenly hanging around with page 3 girls and other celebs. How many of big sports stars do that?

He goes to the local pub or when out in Manchester never goes drinking champagne or hanging around in the expensive bars in VIP rooms and at his after fight parties there are no VIP rooms. Again compare that to footy players or the guys like PBF.

Yes the whole thing is tired and boring to hear now. But it is also true. And frankly the fact that most of Britain go down the pub is irrelevant, most of Britain are not multi millionaires who have made their money by their mid 20s after having grown up pretty poor and having very little until they were 18-19.

Compare his lifestyle with any Premiership star or even with David Hayes (and I like Haye a lot, seems like a good guy). Never mind comparing it to Mayweather who throws money onto dance floors to see people scrambling for it and who has an entourage everywhere he goes.

After the Tszyu fight, Hatton took 15 lads from his local to Tenerife for 2 weeks, yes it shows he has awful taste in holiday destinations but not exactly living the jet setter celeb life is he?

Ricky should go on about the cost of his stuff like Floyd does.

"See this watch? Timex. Digital. Cost $8.95 at the local gas station."

"See these sweats? Got 'em on sale. 2 for ten dollars."

Ah shaddaup you northern ******.Your only sticking up for your greasy boy.If Ricky had any sense he`d use some of that money to move out of Manchester instead of wasting it on Rolex`s.Thats sound Northern wisdom right there. "**** moving out of the ghetto il just buy me a Rolex and have my name Ooop in the lights in Vegas"

but you see that's the point, you're judging the man, not the fighter. it should be the other way round, most can't stomach it when it comes to naz.

Well there are some fighters out there who would one not admit they got mugged, and if they did, would say they put up a fight, and yeah he admitted he was a tool for wearing it out there.

Well im sorry then,he should maybe have toned his attitude down slightly,if he wanted people to really like him, because at times he was one nasty ******* in the ring and out.It was so great seeing barrera beat him to bits,he was not so cocky in that fight

Ricky is an extreme (positive) version of a certain type of upper-lower class/lower-middle class Englishman. If you don't like Ricky, you don't like a lot of (good) English people!:deal

I am not saying he is smart, I am saying he is down to earth. To be fair Witter seemed like a decent bloke too.
I would not live like Hatton does but the fact is the geezer still goes round to his Mum and Dads for tea and if he is ever out in town he is very approachable and just out with his mates.

Your hatred for him is bizarre. Fine you don't like his style and you think he is overrated...no problem with that. But now you guys are trying to claim that he is also some arrogant, fake....

    Well he isn't.

Another example of a down to earth lad would be Wes Brown...safe as ****. But these sports figures are a rarity.
