Judah is quite obviously faster for 6 rounds.

But anyway onto the point...Hatton is faster, significantly so that Oscar.

Sure Oscar can do those bad Calzaghe impersonational flurries. The ones where he hits the air a lot, without much pop and still gets scored rounds for it. But for one punch speed, Hatton is faster and can punch fast with more accuracy in comparison with Oscar.

As some of you may no, I struggled to give Oscar a single round against Floyd. And it goes without saying Hatton will do somewhat better.

Neither of these fighters are in a Calzaghe like lead (they are maybe 30% as good), despite what the American media will try and tell us. Corely landed punches on Floyd, so did other fairly useless fighters. Calzaghe has a superior defence to be honest, especially when you consider the functionality of his defence in that he can be aggressive and throwing thousands of punches at the same time.

So Hatton will hit him enough times. But Floyd will win like.

Floyd will land more bodyshots. He isn't a better body-puncher (though the jab is ok) than Hatton, but defends to the body far better.

Floyd will hurt Hatton with accuracy and handspeed a few times. But he lacks the warrior spirit, mentality of a Joe Calzaghe so might not follow up and go for the KO. We will see.

Hatton's only chance is a points win robbery ala Oscar - Floyd.

Hatton will be outlanded and land less clean shots. But Golden Boy influenced judges might incorrectly score Hatton rounds - citing going forwards as justification.

It is going to be depressing stuff to watch following on from the quality and skill in Calzaghe - Kessler just 2 months back.

Floyd is evasive, when fighting defensively.

Calzaghe is impossible to hit even when being aggressive and going forwards.

Such a balanced fighter, leagues above the rest.

Now lets stop making silly anti-Calzaghe arguments, which are bound to make you look a fool and focus on Mayweather - Hatton.

I agree! The valiancy and class Calzaghe showed in destroying the Pride of providence, the Great Manfredo, is enough in itself to raise him above the clouds and into the realm of the supernatural :happy

Did Manfredo even land a punch?

Calzaghe was absolutely ruthless. I will keep saying it. A perfect performance given the opponent.

Calzaghe was barely even touched once he started boxing and Kessler is more accurate than anyone Mayweather has faced.

You people have serious issues. Everything is about Calzaghe with you.

There were several paragraphs there not even mentioning the fact Calzaghe is the best boxer in the history of the sport.

The only way Oscar could win rounds was by flailing at the air and having his fans cheer this. Kessler is greatly more accurate around 2006/2007.

Howd you struggle to give Oscar a round? LoL. Were we watching the same fight or the world of words btw the two?

Also, how you manage to throw Calzaghe into a welterweight conversation? You are borderline obsessed.

I think the problem with the analogy/comparision is that Zab could get faster counters inside Mayweather's high arm defense whereas Ricky is going to try to hit him around his guard and underneath. I have a lot of difficulty comparing straight counter shots with big curved shots in which concerns to speed and effectiveness against someone like Mayweather... Hatton is sharper, faster and more intense than Chop Chop, Gatti, Baldomir and Hoya fo'sure. CHJ, you gat to stop looking at everything through those Joey C lens?... - it blurs most people senses in times like this.

I scored Oscar two rounds. And I was being kind to him. Mayweather landed more and better shots in almost all rounds.

China_hand_Joe please rewatch the fight (preferably with Skysports and not HBO commentary). About 90% of Floyd's punches were being parried/blocked by DLH, with floyd trying to be flashy at distance and only hitting arms and hands.
Please do rewatch it. The only hard shots landed in most of the rounds from 1 to 9 were DeLaHoya's shots to the body and overhand right-hands.
