Pbf was 148 in the ring v de la hoya, hatton was 149 in the ring v castillo. (hatton in the past has been 156/7 in the ring while at 140.) Floyd is no junior middle,he is not even a big welter.... Although floyd can be effective at higher weights than hatton this is because of floyds skill and style...Currently i think they are pretty much the same size, hatton was bigger a few years ago but floyd has added some muscle mass in his bouts with baldomir and de la hoya... I think though ricky may struggle with other welters in terms of size (because margo was 157 in the ring and williams an astonishing 162!) floyd will probably be about 148 in the ring while ricky will be about the same....I think this is one reason why team hatton have taken this fight at welter..... To be honest i feel its obvious that these guys are the same size and im just looking forward to seeing if pbf can handle the pressure, strength, youth and stamina of hatton, and whether hatton can handle the movement, defense and skills of pbf......Excellent fight in the making.....:good Congrats to hatton, pbf and the powers that be in making this fight.....
I agree Hatto is naturally 'bigger' and it wont be an excuse from me if he loses. It's pretty much accepted that the only reason Hatton is fighting again at 147lbs is because he will be the bigger man in the ring on the Saturday night, as opposed to normal welters.
I've always felt they were almost exactly the same size, physically. I expect this to be reflected when they do enter the ring.
