I think I'm in the minority, but I believe Hatton was fine at welterweight. He just ran into 2 world class fighters. The Collazo fight could have went either way. In the PBF fight, although he was dominated, it was the best he looked in along time from not having to make 140. He looked like **** in all the fights after that when he went back to 140.

After seeing him at 140 since Collazo I actually think Hatton fighting Floyd at 147 a was better move. I think Floyd would have finished him in 6 at 140

Hatton drains about 15lbs of water to make 140lbs and weighs 155lbs in the ring, at 147 he only has to drain 8lbs of water weight making him stronger and less drained in the ring. The only problem is he is facing bigger men at 147 and doesnt have his usual size advantage

Sorry man , Hatton is 5 6' with short arms , never a Welter , and was pushed around by a light hitting Collazo, and mayweather is a small welter who knocked him out going backwards, always will be a junior Welter.

The weight itself wasn't a problem because he's fights the same at either weight. Problem is he fights with the exact same shitty style against bigger, more skilled fghters and that cost him with a terrible showing against Collazo, and a KO loss against Mayweather.

And he looked great against Malignaggi by the way, which was at 140 after the loss to Mayweather.

He doesn't have the same advantages in strength and his power isn't as big a factor.

Completely agree, too small too make a welterweight.
But as someone else said, he really needs to control his weight between fights.

He looked great against Malignaggi somehow, but that the only talented fighter he's beaten convincingly (other than an aging Kostya of course).

He lost the Collazo fight in most people's eyes, got his ass handed to him by Floyd and Manny, and looked like **** against the very limited Urango.

He's a B level fighter at best. Good against other B level guys, great against lower level ones, but can't hang with the real talent in either division.

Hatton never belonged at 147lbs. He was made for 140.

Right Physically, he looks stronger at 147, but i guess it doesn't matter if you can't beat any elite at that weight. He should just retire. There is not an elite 140 lber Hatton can beat

Hatton should have listened to Billy Graham and not fought PBF at 147... I think that Hattton would have been better at 140... He lacked the strength at 147...:yep

Regardless of what weight Hatton fought PBF at he was getting beat...:yep

hatton almost got knocked out twice at 147..his punch resistance is a lot lower now..he shouldn't go up to 147 ever again

what do you mean he couldn't hang with the real talent in either division? he was the man at 140 for 3-4 years.

would you not call castillo talented, albeit a bit past it, and he ko'd him, something no one else had ever done. as far as the urango fight, it may not have been his best performance but he outclassed him winning 10 rounds.
