now you're being ridiculous. just stop it. he didn't destroy ****. he outboxed him from the inside, but it was paulie's corner who stopped it. paulie was never in any sort of trouble. in fact, hatton did not impress me in that fight whatsoever.
And why do you think his corner stopped the fight?? Because he was getting his ass handed to him! Hatton won every round in that fight!
so why did paulie resort to holding for the entire fight once he tasted hatton power? if he didn't hold hatton would have stopped him way before his corner stopped it. This content is protected
Castillo WAS talented, but like you said, he was past it. All but shot at that point. He looked sloppy as hell in the Urango fight and was getting noticeably hurt to the body. Urango sucks, btw. One-dimensional through and through with a good punch at that's it. He can't hang with the guys currently at 140. And I don't think he could beat Cotto at 140 back when they were both there.
Really ****s me off all this about Hatton. He beat Tzsyu knowone give him a hope before hand and he ate a fair few right hands and didnt flinch! He won every minute of every round against Maussa! With a highlight reel knock out! He looked good against Collazo for 6 rounds and then gassed it, still got the win i had hatton by a point and ive watched that fight god knows how many times. He dominated Urango for 10 rounds, looked alot better in doing so than Berto imo, Urango has defended his title against good guys like ndougjo and bailey since! The Mayweather fight again he looked good for 6 rounds and i had it 3-3, gassed it! To be fair to hatton he gets stick for the win over Lazcano but lazcano isnt a dick! hes beaten good guys at 135 was robbed against vivien harris who was a title holder and hatton did win every round bar one! Lazcano hasnt ever been beaten like that before! Malignaggi was Ring magazine number 2! He got outboxed, outworked, outclassed in every department (i have told paulie all this and we arent on speakin terms anymore, so some of the hating for this fight might be due him bein on here!) Malignaggi has beaten Juan Diaz since! Pacquaio fight was well i a shambles but when u havnt got a defence and your fighting beasts then **** happens doesnt it. Hatton is a A list fighter who could of been better imo. knowone at 140 beats him still
it was a 50:50 fight with cotto at 140, as far hanging with the guys at 140 currently, hatton is finished and should retire but even now he would still have a good chance against anyone of them. and in his prime would have beaten all of them as it stands currently at 140.
Lost to Collazo in most eyes, wrong - Some, and it is acknowledged as a close fight. Subsequently we've seen Berto get in trouble with Collazo too so it's not like Collazo is not a high standard 147 fighter. He was dominant against Urango for 6 rounds, absolutely pissed on him then went into defence mode as he was sick with a chest infection...nothign wrong with that, I've seen PBF do worse once he gets ahead. He's not a B level fighter, he's A level just not A+ like Pac, PBF etc
Didn't Hatton and Paquiao fight at 140? How did that go? I bet Bradley could beat him, any version of him. Campbell might be a bit small, but he can punch, so can Maidana. And like hell it was 50:50 with Cotto. He would have beat the hell out of Hatton then, and I think he still would. They obviously should have that fight "Battle of the shot superstars".
To be A-level, you should at least be able to compete with an A+ guy like Manny or Floyd, but he got beat handily by both.
If he comes back he should come back to 147. He looked dead at the 140 weigh-in for the Pacquiao fight plus he rehydrated to 154 on fight night. But then again, if he feels comfortable at 140 then he should stay there but I think the bigger fights are at 147(Cotto, Pacquiao Rematch, Mayweather Rematch, Kell Brook[would do good numbers in England]). At 140 you have Marquez, & Khan as the big money fights and that's about it.
I agree. He may have worse luck at 147 than at 140, but at least the paydays are there. Not to mention, he can pick and choose less dangerous guys at 147 and still be competitive there.
Yep. And you know Khan is not staying at 140 forever. Hatton vs Khan can happen at 147 for the right price. You also have the aging Mosley who can lose to Berto and still be a good fight for Ricky in Manchester. Speaking of Berto, that's another fighter that Hatton can fight(I'd personally keep him away from Berto though).
I'd keep him away from Berto or Mosley until he's good and ready to retire, I think either of those guys would demolish him, but it'd be a nice payday on the way out. Cotto would be a little safer at this point in Miguel's career, but I still think Hatton loses that one.
