His bodyfat is reasonably low and he's probably getting some of his stamina back. But he won't be quite the same, he won't be as fit as he was, he won't have the same hand-eye coordination or timing

  2. Nah. He just had probably the same habit I'd have with millions in the bank.

Easily shook off with X amount of months of living right.

Exactly, people are acting like Hatton formed a severe smack habit or something (and the ones that think that are the ones who know **** ALL about drugs)

I don't think his minor drug habit is what will count against him, it won't help but it won't be the straw that broke the camels back. His problems will stem from the fact that he's NEVER "lived the life" and always used to balloon between fights, you'd hear quotes from him after people questioned why he was so big in between title fights saying things like "I live like a monk in training so between fights I like to relax and have a few pints of guiness" and that has essentially always been his attitude.

The fact that he has had a 3 year pie and guiness binge instead of his usual 3-4 months between fights is what will count against him, coupled with the fact that he was on the slide anyway as shown against Lazcano. His style was always take 3 to land 1 anyway and that style isn't built for longevity. His punch resistance is what I see being the telling factor, not whether he can still throw and last the distance (which remains to be seen.)

Taking all that ^^ into account, sniffing a gram every so often won't make a lot of difference or be the deciding factor in anything but it does go to re-affirm that Hatton treats his body like an amusement arcade and not a temple.

The way i look at it, if when he was fighting he was ballooning up every few weeks and he was not fit for a long period of time. This time around, if it is true what people are saying, he is actually just living cleaner as a whole. So he is fit even before a training camp starts which takes less toll on the body. Surely an argument could be made that this would see him fitter than ever before?

However i completely agree about the level of fitness needed at the highest level.

To be honest this is one of the more interesting stories in boxing at the minute and i'm genuinely interested to see what condition he comes back in. It's like a dangerous scientific experiment.
