I think this will be a good fight but it won't see any knock downs. Hatton may pull a decision, but I think its a pick em fight.
PS Being naturally bigger has nothing to do with a fighters weight between fights. Bone structure has more to do with it......
I think so too, the size/thickness of your skull and hands, and heart and lung capacity are central to moving up in weight classes.
Yep. And Hatton's sloppy out of shape performance against Collazo is a perfect example of that. Regardless of whether one wants to blame Hatton taking Collazo too lightly for his performance on that night, I have a hard time accepting that Hatton will do much better when carrying the extra weight against a fighter who is ten times the boxer Collazo ever was. While I am sure that I will buy the fight and am enjoying 24/7, I can't help but feel that HBO is pulling the wool over my eyes on what a silly matchup this is on some level.
Hatton won't come in as heavy as he was for Collazo and what extra weight he has over 140 will have been put on correctly. Hatton was training for a fight at 140 then got given the Callazo fight on shortish notice and just started eating more rather than building himself up properly.
It's all in the timing fo'sure. We all expect Floyd to extend that left foot in the center of the ring, get into a low position, present only his side to Hatton, jab underneath and come up with that cobra strike right hand. Whenever Hatton get close, he puts that left forearm in his face and double hooks with the right body-head - that movie is known to full entent. This content is protected Happens that Hatton may not stay str8 up and at punch range so that he sets him up like he did to Oscar. Floyd only disrupts Hatton's timing with a faster left lead and quicker foot work and he'll need it if the Hitman comes jumping on him with a left hook, pushin him all ova and harrasin that Cobra with a mongoose strike - watch Ricky coming at Collazo at the sound of the first bell. At range, Ricky hooks faster with short-armed double shots body-head ( same side) and those are quicker than long punches... This content is protected
Hmmm. This has been worrying me but Ricky didn't cope well with the weight change, I don't think he realised just how big a change that would be, I don't think he was prepared at all. Plus, he was quite ill at the time with a bad chest infection. Churn, it's great to see you have a God as an avatar:good
Hatton always looks in good shape for fights- but come on, not like this..he is so fit it looks scary. If I was in a ring with that I would jump straight out
