This is true, it's good that he lost. Had he scraped through and faced a Khan, Brook or even Malignaggi next march he wouldve been seriously beaten up and embarrassed

That isnt really good? Senchenko isnt a bum but he isnt really that good to begin with. He beat a bunch of nobodies in his career before he fought feather fisted never won in big fights Paulie. Hatton in all honestly didnt fought a dangerous opponent. It just shows hatton is a decline fighter. For those saying senchenko was a dangerous opponent really are hyping or s4cking up to hatton behind.

 

he tried. Boxing is such a tough sport that 3 years of not boxing affects everything. I remember Ray Mancini when he fought Haugen. He looked terrible.

 

Yeah, im being a touch harsh maybe, just think they must have known how bad he looked. He was missing by miles all night. Munroe Quigg scrap was alright though

 

Ricky has always been delusional about his skill set-a bit like Froch.Exciting,yes,but a whiner and it's always ALL about him.Senchenko displayed class and humility,something that Hatton never learned.

Paulie is one of the best technical fighters out there currently, and it is widely known. He also has fast hands...and at WW is showing MUCH more power. Actually, he looks BETTER at WW than he did at the lower weights.

Senchenko was more than a live opponent. He was a dangerous one...for a comeback fight. He comes in shape, he's got good technique, keeps his cool under pressure and he isn't afraid to battle it out if he has to.

I'd have been amazed if Ricky could have pulled that win off after his layoff and massive weight gain and partying.

If his endgame is a Mayweather rematch...no. He's not going to win that.

However, I could see Ricky...after a string of tune ups... beating Ortiz, Gerrero, Zaveck.

Tougher fights I'd give him a small chance of winning: Brook, Pacquaio, Alexander.

Fights he has no chance of winning: Bradley, Mayweather.

 

Paulie is the same fighter that got a gift win in his last fight vs freaking cano for crying out loud lol. You talk like paulie is great in which he far isnt. Yeah senchenko was really a live opponent that fought all his fights in the ukraine vs cab drivers before he fought paulie. I bet guarrero or even berto would ko or tko senchenko badly.

I did NOT have a good feeling sitting down to watch this fight. It was a better way to go out than the Pacquiao loss... although not by much.

I was sad seeing him on the canvas from that body shot. He would have taken that shot just fine in 2005. You have to admire his tenacity taking a difficult fight given the circumstances and you have to admire his honesty that he doesn't have it anymore. There's only one Ricky Hatton.

I gave him a clean sweep from 1-5, although in that last stanza he was admittedly reduced to claiming it on sheer activity and aggression as the wheels had begun to come off.

Make it an eight rounder, and Hatton won a UD.

Aiming for ten long after three years off was the ill advised choice, not the opponent.

Let's not make like Senchenko is anything to write home about. Hatton gassed and he took advantage to play the fortunate hand dealt, simple as.

 

I like how everyone is saying they knew Senchenko would win now, when 80% of ESB had him winning quite comfortably by points or early stoppage just before the fight.

But you're right: it was silly to think he could take on a top 15 WW in a ten rounder in his first fight back, considering everything he has put his body through over the years.

 

Senchenko wasn't and still isn't a top 15 WW.

 

He really is quite a no-mark. But I'm sure he has a fairly generous rating with some sanctioning bodies. RING had him ~9-10 pre-Paulie loss.
