...and here i was, thinking that a Hatton shadow-fight even if PPV in the UK, would still sell a mil...

This "estimate" is so ridiculously wide that it doesn't even tell a story

The UK has like 20% the population of the US. Based on population, 70K in sales is the equivalent of 350K in the US. 200K is equivalent to 1,000,000

Based on population, the "estimate" ranges from very respectable to amazing

nope. 50/50 means that hatton has equal status with pac in boxing which most definitely isn't the case. how can a borderline elite fighter have the same status as a certified p4p elite (p4p #1), star and ATG of this sport? and as this thread shows, hatton isn't much of a draw in his native UK if he isn't fighting a big named opponent.

pac should stay firm. it is hatton who should give in which is just proper. hatton should know his place.

yeah ok! the oscar larios thing was a mistake but the fact is bob arum has a deal with setanta sports regarding manny which= no ppv
that includes all of manny`s recent fights bar dlh(sky box office ppv like all of hattons fights)
so the point im trying to make is that any fight involving hatton=uk ppv+gate reciepts.. whereas manny vs anyone bar hatton or dlh(which aint happenin) would not be worth as much as a fight involving hatton & a big name opponent ie manny, mayweather or jmm!!!
as far as "nuthuggery" goes,im making a simple point here! if you want to get all bitchy about it then ***** away!.. *****!!!
So how much revenue does the ppv in the philipenes bring in?
also i was refering to uk ppv regarding bob arums deal with setanta(ie manny`s fights not involving hatton or dlh)
ps i cant see dlh selling many more ppv`s(unless it vs hatton)

the article was simply not researched and is basically propaganda.

on the one hand the article writes hatton v malinaggi did
175,000 to 200,000 ppv in america

and then that hatton v malinaggi did

75,000, to 200,000 ppv in the uk

this is basically what the whole article is premised around to show hatton is not a draw.

the first ppv figure from the USA is obviouly a lie as the fight was never on ppv in america

the second figure , if we take the lower end 75k as a vieweing figure for the uk ppv and work out if this could be true

hatton v a luecano got in a live gate of 55,000, for a 47,000 football stadium capacity.

it is fair to assume there were thousands that were not able to get tickets for the fight.

yet the author asks us to beleive that the live gate of a hatton fight in north west england is the same as what hatton generates for the whole of the uk for a ppv fight v malignaggi on tv.
