You cannot accuse De La Hoya of being like the floyd of today. Oscar has took on some big challenges. He didn't need to take on flody in 2007. he could of went with more easier options for around the same money


Mayorga was a big test after all that ring rust. He did't need to fight teh best middle in the world in Hopkins

You could argue that he took on mosley and vargas at the right times yes but we weren't complaining when those fights were made

In his prime, he also took on a prime tito, quartey and mosley.

Mayweather in his early years wasn't afraid of a great challenge. He took on corrales (who was heavily favoured), castillo (twice), genaro hernandez (after a small amount of fights), angel mafredy (who was favoured by some to beat him)

 

Below are 3 criteria I would use to decide whether a rematch should take place:
1) The champion loses his title
2) It was a close contraversal dicision
3) It was an exciting all action fight

In their first fight, Mayweather won convincingly and even stopped Hatton (which hardly anyone predicted). I saw nothing that night to think that any rematch would result in any other result other than an another easy night's work for Mayweather.

This fight is purely about money as they know that if 55,000 lemmings are willing to pay to watch Hatton/Lazcano then they would easily get 100,000 for Mayweather.

Everyone in boxing is asking for Mayweather/Cotto and Witter/Hatton. Until these fights happen I will not pay to watch either fighter take easy or money fights which ultimately prove nothing.

 

4) The loser goes on to do something to make you think he can reverse the result of the first fight.

 

What has Hatton done to deserve a rematch with PBF ? NOTHING.

How many times has Hatton said he is not good when fighting at 147 ?

So why he want to rematch against PBF (at 147) rather than fighting the best at 140 ?

If his such a big name then why not fight Witter ? The fight will sell easily because as you keep saying Hatton is such a big name. All his shills would pay to watch him have a dump in the ring so I am sure he could get 50K plus paying shills to watch him fight Witter.

Hatton is fck all at 147 he struggled against Collazo and PBF schooled him. Hatton gained nothing from the PBF fight apart from his huge pay cheque.

They look on boxrec work out Judah beat Witter, ignore Witter took the fight at a few days notice and use this to blow Hattons trumpet. You ask them whether Hatton could accept a fight at a few days notice aginst the likes of Zab, make the weight and go 12 and they ignore the post. Fcking muppets.
