If you want to start talking about JC and what a waste of time his career has been... let's go. Who the f*ck is Kessler? THAT'S the name on Calzaghe's record that set his legacy!!!

I just want to point out quickly, I'm not a Hatton nuthugger, and I'm not a newbie...
I've been posting on boxing messageboards since 2001.

And on Hatton, I made ONE post prior to the Hatton-Mayweather fight, it was on boxrec and it was this, in a betting thread...
That was my only comment about the fight, when all around me were losing their heads, I had mine.

Just wanted to get that in, because I'm new here. I'm not a thicksh*t Hatton fanboy, I'm nobodies fanboy...

I didnt think so. But yet you glibbly defend Hattons opposition without even having a clue as to who Lazcano is. TYPICAL HATTON fan.

    The jury rests.

Hatton is having a comeback fight against lazcano then fighting Paul Malignaggi and then fighting Floyd Mayweather. Any one who ridicules him for fighting those opponents have issues with him other then boxing.

I'm not defending Hatton's opposition, I'm defending Hatton's right to fight whoever he likes because he's earned that right. He fought the p4p #1 fighter in the world outside his own weight division in his last fight.
I'd defend Hatton's right to fight Peter Buckley. This isn't about Lazcano.

How does that logic make ANY sense. You`d defend his right to face Peter Buckley but by the same token Witter is a nobody?:patsch

Of course Hatton can fight Mr Blobby. He can take a crap in Wembley and get all his fans to watch for a £100 a time. Thats his perogative. BUT WHY INSIST THAT HIS REWARDING HIS FANS WHEN HIS ONLY LINING HIS OWN POCKETS AND HAS NO INTENTION OF FIGHTING WITTER WHICH IS WHAT THE FANS TRULY WANT.

I like Hatton, and don't care if he fights Witter or not.

Witter is not definitively the #1 contender, he is just one of a group that are below Hatton.

After what Hatton gave us 4 months ago, which was the biggest event for British boxing ever in terms of the whole occasion, build up, press, the weigh in, the fight, the numbers... nothing is going to compare to that for a fight in May. And if Hatton never fights another top guy, on what he's given us so far he can retire having done plenty more than enough for British boxing and for his fans. In my opinion.

    No, not easily at all.

He fought the undisputed champion in his division to win the title, a guy that was top 5 p4p in anyones ratings at the time.

He went to America and in his first fight beat a Welterweight world champion.

He fought the p4p#1 fighter in the world at Welterweight.

None of those things are anywhere near in anybodys definition, easy options to please me or anyone else.
