Watching the program I had mixed feelings about the relationship between Mayweather Sr. and Hatton.

Sometimes it felt genuine and other times it felt staged, like most of these shows are. There was a feeling that something special might come of their relationship, but the truth was evident when Hatton walked to the ring, he looked like there was no confidence that he might win, ya I like Hatton and who knows if he would have done better under a different trainer, I take nothing away from Pacquiao he was ready and did the job without any bull**** before the fight...felt he was more real then Hatton on 24/7.

But I think that loss and the hype leading up to the fight may have tainted which has been a fine career in the eyes of boxing fans, as for Mayweather Sr. can't really blame him for the loss but if he is such a great trainer and I assume he is then why did he complain so much about things like having to go to Manchester which I assume he didn't like and his constant put downs of Roach. I know he was trying to sell the fight which it didn't really need, but I came away with the feeling that Floyd really didn't earn his money.

They were always a very odd couple.

Hatton loves his home comforts more than most fighters, spending time with his son, parents and close friends.

Additionally, he had been with Graham since he was 16 - there was a lot of mutual trust between the pair until after the Floyd fight, where Hatton let his ego tell him that his trainer was more responsible for the loss than either he or his opponent were.

Someone with a personality like Freddie Roach would have been a more obvious choice, with his seemingly caring nature, whereas Floyd sr tends to be a more brash type.
