Under Maloney Munroe had just fought valiantly for a world title and seemed a shoe in for another shot soon. He had won the writers boxer of the year award and he was a big attraction on sky and on the cusp of becoming a cross over star (nationally at lest) now he has totally dropped of the radar. Shows just how far from the public conscience he has gone by the fact that not even the hardcore boxing fans on here seem interested in him fighting quigg or frampton seems that if your not from one of the Manchester gyms that Ricky and his company couldn't care less about you. truly one of the worst jobs promoting a fighter in british boxing history

TBH more fool him, sorry but he knew when going to Hatton that they didn't have many TV dates with Sky and haven't been overly prolific in getting world title shots.

He left Maloney for no real reason IMO..

Edit: In saying that dunno what Hatton are planning to do with him, he'd have tougher fights with his workmates..

I'm not convinced by them as promoters in general.

Joe Murray is another example of a badly promoted fighter. Then there are those like Kenny Anderson and Rhys Roberts who were let go after both losing very tough fights.

I agree, I was told about 2 years ago that there only around for Ricky to use as a tax loss. I have no clue bout any of that stuff but the guy that told me has been around Hatton before.

I didn't like the way they bombed Danny Butler for taking a British title fight then denying they did and then Butler and IIRC Couch coming out and claiming they had. Looks like they did going by way they got rid of other lads.

Roberts is still with Hatton isn't he?

I agree that they have done an unimpressive job with Munroe.

Certain things, like fairly regular local shows and streaming them when not on TV have been good for building up the fighters on their rosta IMO

Didn't know that. I read that Hatton had lured some away from Wood by paying over the odds wages, perhaps things have returned to their natural scheme of things.

They promise big money per fight they promote, then don't put many fights on.

When I was working on the magazine I was at the ABA quarter finals last year and a guy from Hatton Promotions was reading through our mag and started really getting onto me about working in conjunction with Hatton promotions giving me all their phone numbers and arranging meetings etc.

I gave them a ring the following Monday and they started moaning like I was on their case and trying to pawn me off. I was thinking you's asked me to call, what the ****, I had no interest in talking to yous beforehand. They seem to be a tad unorganised to me.
