Hatton + Munroe = worst promotion of a fighter in history

Discussion in 'British Boxing Forum' started by Pale Destroyer, Jan 29, 2012.

  1. Munroe doesn't help himself though by stinking out the joint every time the Hatton's try and put him on.

The opponent he faced last time was about 200 years old and the sort who a fighter of Rendall's ability out to dominate and stop by the middle rounds.

Instead he was taken ten rounds, and now has another pointless 8 rounder coming up next.

He probably needs to face someone dangerous every fight to motivate him.

Because Adam Etches and Scott Jenkins are the biggest ticket sellers in the country and Truscott is only based up the road in Rothwell near Leeds.

Rendall is earning good enough money to not have to work on the bins any more so he cant be promoted that badly. It's not HP or his fault that he's hard to match. FM had him boxing mainly at Euro level, he's beyond that now.

Is Munroe still fighting at Super Bantamweight. I thought they were thinking of moving him up in weight. To be honest just around the UK and Ireland there are some good fights to keep him busy to be made if they want them. Frampton , Quigg and Willie Casey would all make a good fight for Munroe sadly with all the stalling and lack of big fights he is going backwards rather than forward in my view.

Not too sure about Hatton's as promoters they don't really seem to be giving their fighters the backing they need. They don't have enough sky dates for their fighters to come out regularly enough

He should have stayed with Maloney, he did very well with Rendall.

Yeah that's why Martin Murray, Matthew Hatton and Ryan Rhodes got world title shots. Scott Quigg, Anthony Crolla and Gary Buckland have become British champions. :patsch

Hatton and Rhodes were given hopeless tasks fighting abroad, most promoters can get a good fighter a world title shot. Hatton hasn't even promoted Crolla's last two fights not great exposure really, Quigg is a good talent and he is doing a decent job with him. With Buckland it took him far too long after Prizefighter to get a British title shot and wasted a good six months really doing nothing. What about Foster Jr, Munroe, Lyon, Vassell, Towers all of who are just at stand still with their careers. Im not hating on Hatton I just think he concentrates his work solely on a few fighters and ignores his others
