...Freddie Roach. We all agree that you can't simply change someone's style unless he is willing to learn. Roach is master of Offensive fighters, What needed for Hatton is not change, but to refine and polish. Floyd Sr. didn't even cared that much for Hatton, He just wanted the win to be showered of star light and fame for Money. Roach is exactly the opposite, He wants to win not because of money but for recognition. If Roach wants money heck he could just change the daily fee of 5$ to $150 a day just to train in Wild Card Gym. Nobody can change Hatton's brawling style unless he wants to really change, It's all just him. Roach can refine those Inside fighting skills into a much sweet science of art of boxing(watever that is). So all you Hatton fans, don't be let down! There is another day to shine for Ricky "The Hitman" Hatton! Btw in Off-Topic: PacDBest is the prophet!!!!! First he predicted a Hoya-Pac bout and Pac winning by KO which everyone laughed at him. But if EFFING HAPPENED! Second he predicted Pacquiao going for Hatton and win a KO victory. Guess what? IT DID FREAKING HAPPENED. All in the same arrangement as he rightfully stated! And his final prediction. "Pacquiao will fight Mayweather and win an enormous KO Victory!" - PacDBest
Freddie Roach would have been an excellent choice, but Hatton is too shop worn now, he has gone the way of Jose Luis Castillo.
They also said Amir Khan will never be back in the stage. But Freddie did a magnificent thing! He made Khan implement the strategy of Pac in Pac-Hoya! He should hire Roach before its too damn late coz of his Parkinson's Disease.
why would roach have anything to do with Hatton? he just told hatton to retire, he simply don't see the point of him fighting anymore. Roach said he agreed with floyd snr that hatton should bow out and not risk getting parkinson.
I don't think any trainer's help will help Hatton beat any of the Elite fighters. He developed bad habits for too long to change this late in his career. Note- even Roach has said this.
If he can't get roach then time to hang it up.....unless there is someone else? Brother nazim perhaps?
Nah. Let's be realistic, it has taken Roach many years with Pacquiao. Many many years. Fight by fight, gym session by gym session, you could see the results in his performances. Each time one piece of the jigsaw would come together. There is just too much for Hatton to do, aged 29, having had a long career taking a lot of punishment, and punishing his own body. Too much to do on a techincal level. And ultimately, the unpolished diamond that was Pacquiao years ago was still likely far more talented.
I'm excited by the prospect of Khan. Still 23 and malleable to learn the best of Roach can ingrain into him.
