You won't ever have a baby mother to hit, no woman in her right mind would carry a child of yours u racist ****
He'd have had a chance against Cotto, but would be a slight underdog and could have easily been taken out if he was too reckless. He never beats Mayweather though, ever. On a good night he goes to points and wins 3/4 rounds but no more.
Would have loved to see the very best hatton against mayweather. Still say that tyszu win was a great one. Tyszu was older but he was a serious professional. He wasn,t like usual older guys that are just in it for the money. Pretty sure kerry kayes was saying tyszu came with about 20 guys in his entourage for that fight. He trained something like 8 or 9 hours per day in camp. Tyszu was a serious professional. Hatton at 140 at his best without cortez would have made for an interesting fight. Hatton done allright in the fight they had....one of only a handful of fighters that never jacked it in before half way against floyd. Still reckon hattons foot speed would have caused him problems at 140. It did at 147. Plus cortez did change the landscspe of the fight. You cant stop a guy fighting with the style hes fought all his career. Thats what made it such an interesting clash of styles in the first place. Think billy graham slowing down on the pads and the lifestyle all played a part. Saying all that i think mayweather would always have been a bit too good. Could have been a seriously interesting fight tho. Hatton gave a good account of himself at 147. With a ref that stopped him working on the inside. With a trainer who was slowing down....and a lifestyle that was only leading one way. Think the tyszu win played a part in finishing his best days as well...started thinking there was only one way to win after that.
Still loses, probably does better though As for the Cotto fight at 140, that's a tough one. Would now probably lean toward Cotto but I wouldn't rule Hatton out
Cotto looked shaky at times at 140. The Hatton of Tsyzu v any version of Cotto at 140, I'd expect to see Hattons hand raised. 147 is a different story.
Regarding Cortez, the flip side is Hatton shouldnt have been able to get away with fighting the way he did for so long. Refs let him get away with alot over here. Edit: just watched the first few rounds again and it is annoying! Cortez jimping in even as soon as they get close sometimes. Mayweateh was pretty clever on the inside also to be fair.
Yeah i get it. Its just that the whole reason the fight was so interesting was because of the clash of styles. Rickys style was robust....all action...trying to get on the inside to do his work....he had to his reach was too short...to take that away from him against the best boxer in the world kind of makes the fight pointless to have. I dont think ricky was particularly dirty....he just had an aggresive style more than anything else. Its just a style of boxing...more than being a dirty fighter. Cortez ruined the fight imo...bearing in mind we,ve seen time and time again that he let guys work on the inside. Ricky might not have won the fight but he was cheated out the chance to win it imo.
Depends on the ref if you ask me. If the fight took place in Britain and the referee let Hatton work from the inside, I could see Hatton edging it on points. Especially in a normal size ring.
Other than a few more years of his notorious R&R, Mayweather did fight the Hatton that beat Tzyu. Ricky would still run up the same blind alleys right into the same traffic.
He didn't mate( fight the Hatton of the Tsyzu fight) no one did, certainly not years later when may an PAC beat him, his punch resistance and tank was not the same as it was for Tsyzu, or the hunger. He turned up to camps having to shift 3-4 stone towards the end. No excuses, but it's clear he was a different fighter
Hi Somali. Ricky would have used the same tactics against Mayweather and they wouldn't, couldn't have worked.
I know the general consensus is that Hatton was battered but I’ve watched it back a few times and he seriously wasn’t doing that bad. Cortez ruined the whole fight. He did the same to Calzaghe against Hopkins. I’m not saying he’d have won with Micky Vann, who knows.
Mayweather was far past his best at that point, fighting blown up, short limbed past names once a year with little offense. And Ricky didn't actually land one significant punch, other than the jab thing catching May off balance in the first round.
