How is coming back from so low and doing well failure? He isn't a hero but he is a success story, to go from 15 stone to be where he is now is a success.
Love to reward failure? the man is no failure No the real hero's are the men like Hatton, a man who has put it all on the line, wears his heart on his sleeve and is an idol to thousands. Hes had his problems but who hasnt. He has done more for boxing in britain than any on in recent memory. Ricky Hatton is a national hero.
They've fallen out. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/boxing/ricky-hatton-reveals-disappointment-over-1377321
For every George Foreman comeback there are dozens of guys who just can't do it anymore. Ricky is one of then and there is no shame in that. He was the man at his weight, most likely been undisputed if for not the stupid belts. Life goes on Ricky, live it well and be happy!
I was working till midnight but managed to listen to the 1st on the radio and McGuigan said he was winning and expected Hatton to get to him .KO punch similar to Selby Simpson I was thinking left hook to the body but watched the post fight interview .A bit gutted for Hatton man tbh .
3 years out and he came back against a better opponent than people like Witter have been fighting. Did he look good?...no, but he can walk away with his head held high, although considering how the post fight interview went I can see the Hatton story isn't over yet.
He might of got fat but he's in better shape now than you, me and 95% of the population ever will be, he's took a few drugs and liked a drink so what most people do. He's also achieved more than you ever will.
I hope he now concentrates on his promoting, gets a decent TV deal for his fighters and perhaps does some punditry for the likes of Sky or 5Live.
I just weally wanna sit down next to Wicky in a qwuiet corner of the pub when he's sat alone sobbing into his half-empty pint, put my arm around him and warmly say "Wicky, ignore that lickle voice on your shoulder, cos you'll always be a herewo. The whole countwy is so pwoud of you, and it's gonna be alwight.*" *Not "alwight" in the Micheal Barrymore sense mind.
its more of a success to not be 15 stone in the first place. thats my point. if you have earned millions, have a family, a beautiful woman (shes decent) who loves you, a family who loves you, had success beyond your wildest dreams, fame and adulation and you still end up as a fat, drug addict alcoholic your the opposite of a hero. the fact the ricky was crying in the ring like an 8 year old child who had lost his mother tells you he hasn't overcome any demons. theres no redemption. this whole comeback was about clinging onto something that was long gone. and the only person to blame was hatton himself. As a boxer, fantastic. faced the best, won some great fights, exciting to watch. but what a waste of talent. has he actually lived like a pro who knows where he could have got to. By all means celebrate Hatton as a Boxer, but as a man he is no role model, no hero. not even a man. hes a chlld in a mans body. just a perfect example of how to NOT live your life. I do hope he ends up ok. but i fear the worst.
as he should be in better shape. hes a Professional athlte. you have no idea what i have achieved in my life. he didnt take a few drugs and drink a bit. the guy is an addict who needs serious help.
You really need to be more balanced and less defensive, you have no idea who people are or what they've achieved
