There's one fing Wicky never even wearwized; boxing iz a bwutal sport - wiv euphorwic highs - and gut-wenching lows. If you want to wide the waves you must be pwepared to fall in the mud.

    Wicky got stuck...

I'd like to see Hatton in a proper farewell fight. Something against a very limited opponent who doesn't have a realistic hope, and who (when Hatton wins) won't provide a springboard to a more lucrative fight. It wouldn't be about glory, it would just be a farewell and a way to leave in front of his fans with a win

So often it seems fighters just live to box, and never manage to really broaden their horizons outside of the sport. There's so much a person can do in their mid 30s with a bit of money behind them and all the time in the world. He could get into property development, re-educate just for it's own sake, travel or just pursue a new hobby. Successful fighters are often the best examples of how money doesn't provide happiness

all of my success is relative to me. it could impress one person and another would laugh at me. but ive never thought about killing myself, or been addicted to drugs and booze, or been grossly overweight.

success in life can only be determined by one thing. Happiness. So as of right now, despite being fit and held world titles and taken 25,000 to Las Vegas which are all remarkable achievements....95% of the country are more successful than Ricky Hatton and that includes myself.

It's hard to say he looked a bit battered and bruised but it's just his style I think he's always took punishment .I read his book and they talk about freezer fulls of ice to get the swelling down .The shot thinking of Simpson Selby the left hook to the body was the only time Simpson has ever been hurt in a boxing ring .I think he'd still beat Malignaggi but any of the other WW champs odds would be a bit against him .Gutted for Hatton .The Floyd build up was one the most exciting times being a boxing fan .Sad to see him going from the buzz and highs to this low .Got respect for him as a boxer and today .Anyone hear these lyrics Kostya Tszyu quality .

I think he did well after 3 1/2 years away from the ring although his timing was way off. He just made a mistake going up against such a good opponent in his first fight back. As things stand now I think it's a wise descision to just retire because after this loss he'll lose to much time to work himself up again to a point where he could fight for a belt, and he's not the type to just hang around to make up the numbers. Anyway, thanks Mr.Hatton for many years of great entertainment. Time for the next chapter in your life. Live well and be happy. :thumbsup
