is it just me or does anyone else get fed up with hatton going on about winning the so called p4p title(hes on skysportsnews again today saying this) he seems to think that as he has decided pacman is now the p4p champion if he beats him he becomes the p4p champion i have always considered the p4p isnt passed down from victim to victor as does that mean if hatton wins then comes home has a bout against thaxton and loses that thaxton then becomes the worlds greatest p4p fighter?

Has Hatton been talking about the PVP title?

I'm surprised, he's usually very cagey and modest about such claims. Likes to leave that sort of talk to others.

Does a thread really have to be made everytime he mentions this 'p4p title'. We know it is nonsense so we don't need to be kept reminded about it.

Theres nothing wrong in Hatton laying out his plans .. He is under no illusion that the P4P title is lineal, which is why he's said that he must beat Pac, Marquez and then Floyd to be the true P4P number 1.
I cant see that happening at all, i can see him beating Pac and Marquez (maybe) but in a million years he cant beat Floyd ..
Hatton is going for something that Joe Calzaghe could only dream of, the mythical P4P best fighter on the planet, status .. Calzaghe was worshipped for his mickey mouse WBO title and then worshipped for beating over hyped average fighters and then past they're prime former greats . Hatton has only 1 loss on his record and that was to Floyd and Joe never fought anybody of the class of Floyd and Pac.
Ricky has the chance of being the best British fighter ever and we should support him ..
The greatest natural talent that Britain has ever produced is Naz by a mile, he was a god but the problem was, that he himself thought he was a god and that ws his ultimate downfall

How old are you mate? there is not a chance of Hatton becoming the greatest British fighter ever, none. Well, if he beat those 3, then one of the top 147 lbers ,then he might start to have a case. But that is such a big IF that it's not even worth considering. It's pure fantasy. We've seen Hatton's level over and over again and it's a way off even the best guys in recent history (Lewis, Calzaghe), never mind the various great fighters before them.
Lets not insult those guys by mentioning Ricky Hatton in the same breath.

  8. Is it just me or is everyone else fed up with haters mentioning that they are fed up with Ricky mentioning the p4p title

Successfully defending the P4P belt against Marquez would put him in line for a shot at Sugar Ray Robinson's GOAT title.

Hatton would like the fight at Wembley, but Robinson being dead could be a contractual stumbling block, so it may be that Hatton will be once again forced to comprimise on the location and go to his opponent.

Only 34? Seems like a lot more to me.

There should be a sticky on either this or on how to use the search button.
