Talent and Longjevity is the reason I say Calzaghe is better. Though Joe has yet to beat that pound for pounder i still think he pips hatton to the post.

this is how I see it: They both defended micky mouse belts many times before stepping up (Hatton against Zoo, Calzaghe against Lacy). I rate Zoo as P4P better than Lacy, so Hatton has the edge there but still a great win for Joe. After their big wins, Hatton unified and won a title at 147 while Calzaghe beat Bika and Manfredo (a fight that should never have happened). Again, Hatton has a small edge. However, if Calzaghe can beat Kessler I'd give it to him, even if Hatton beats Castillo.

I think you have to say Hatton just for the fact he had the balls to leave Warren and stop being a ''protected fighter'' and go try fight the best in the US. I wouldnt say Callazo or urango are the best fighters out there but Hatton seems to be moving in the right direction with fighting castillo. Hopefully joe will to by fighting kessler and then maybe mundine but until then i have to say hatton.

I am a Hatton fan and I don't really like Calzaghe. But Calzaghe is the more talented boxer and even though he was in the comfort zone for far too long he has fought better opp than Hatton and would beat the best in his division and the divison above, the same cannot be said for Hatton.

Calzaghe on boxing ability. I respect Hatton for going across the pond and trying to make a real name for himself worldwide, but Calzaghe has been the top dog in SMW for 10 years and is a super talented fighter. If he was American he would easily be recognised as top 5 P4P worldwide.

I'd agree with the comments above.

I'd pick Calzaghe personally but think Hatton has achieved more.

I just wish we could have seen Joe in bigger fights, hopefully the next year will give him the big one's (said that for years now).

Unfortunately, if I'm honest, I'm sure everyone will think back in 5 years time and theoretically ask each other "Could Joe Calzaghe have beaten.... Benn, Eubank (prime), Collins, Watson, RJJ, Ottke, Kessler, Hopkins, Taylor, Winky, Froch & Tarver". We could all speculate but will have no hard answers.

Oh and if you're Australian reading this.. two points: No, Mundine shouldn't be there and **** off back to your own board.

I think Hatton is no. 1 in his division (in the sense that I think he is the best). I don't think Calzaghe is necessarily no. 1 nor the best in his division. Two guys are clearly ahead of the rest there.

However, p4p Calzaghe is at another level to Hatton imo.

This just about sums it up. Calzaghe all the talent in the world, just not in the fights to display it
