I think its harder to be a good person (hatton) but saying that keping your self in condition and making the warrior mentality his own also for me earns a lot of respect. Which would I rather meet I would say Hatton

I respect Hatton more, both as a person & an athlete. He has a hard nosed brawling style that's usually fan friendly.

Hopkins on the other hand is apparently a racist, felon with no teeth. :D

    Ask yourself this:

Who would you rather have a beer or two with?

First of all lets make one thing clear Hopkins was not convicted of armed robbery he was convicted of strong-arm robbery. Completely different things.

Hopkins redeemed himself from a life of crime. I know people will say he shouldn't have done it in the first place but he did. He took steps to make sure he didn't relapse & has remained dedicated to his craft.

Hopkins is a professional of the highest order in terms of looking after his body. It's this clean living that has enabled him to prolong his career. Hopkins came up the hard way defending his IBF belt for what he described as "chump change" before getting his chance to shine in Don King's unification tournament.

    I like his story & I like the man.:good

respect does'nt mean who you like more. people saying hatton is a gentleman and hopkins is a thug and the like, probably base it off how these 2 come across in presscons, interviews etc.... that does'nt cut it imo, since you have'nt actually met both in person and make an opinion for yourself. there personas in the boxing 'theatre' could all be an act. imo, i think hopkins turning his life around speaks volumes about the mans character, his dedication to what he does more so. i respect hopkins more.

OMG he commited a crime 20 years ago that his paid for changed his life around through boxing and is now in the Hall of Fame. But hey he erred as a teen. **** so did George Bush and his the president of the United States. Get of this high horse bull****.

Hopkins is a professional thats why he can still make big fights at 43. At 43 Hatton will be an even fatter drunk.

Are you a boxing fan or more interested in populatiry contests? If the later watch American Idol or X Factor it might suit you more. Who would you rather have a ****ing beer with? **** all that fortune cookie bull**** Hopkins is a pro`s pro. A throw back. Hatton is a throw up after another one of his legendary benders. His in the wrong sport.

It was just a response to a so from another guy. Sensitive?

I dont care to be honest: Hatton seems like a nicer guy; Hopkins is obviously a much better and more dedicated boxer.

Hopkins easily. At the moment I'm losing a lot of respect for Hatton because of his refusal to fight the Hitter.

Hopkins has yet to apologize for his racist remarks, til then he can kiss my ass. I respect Hatton more. X factor? What are you on about? I would respect Hopkins more if he never said that BS and he wasn't somewhat boring to watch fight - period.

I'll always respect what he did for himself to correct his own life & to be fighting at such a level at such an advanced age. But true respect? Not quite................
