Yes he was but he was and still is seriously flawed. Remeber he had only just regained his title against the man who defeated him (O'Neil Bell). I remeber in the run up to the fight when people were concerned about Haye's stamina whilst completley disregarding Mormecks awful stamina. Also after Mormeck wost to Bell and then went life and death with him in the rematch, Bell then went on to be stopped in 8 rounds by Adamek, who is currently looking the goods in the division. Mormeck was the man but in a very mediocre division imo. Haye could be the future but his resume is no where near that of Hattons or Calzaghes, imo.
Alot of people in the Mormeck camp for he should have pulled out of the fight back then because his head was ****ed. A good name but nothing more.
Floyd Sr seemed a bit bashful, quite, and shy even after the fight; relative to his normal brazen self!! I'm not sure why...
I never had a problem saying Hatton is World Class At his peak the best light welterweight in the world I just dont like him and am not a fan of him as a person
Interesting. For someone who is so technically inferior he hasn't done too badly being unbeaten, fighting at the highest level and becoming a multi-millionaire.
